FIESTRAVAGANZA International Music Academy | Official Trailer (2023)

The first edition of the “Fiestravaganza International Music Academy” (FIMA) will be held in Berlin from 10th - 16th of July 2023, in collaboration with Bechstein Music World Singapore, C. Bechstein and the Carl Bechstein Stiftung. Among the supporters of this initiative are the Singapore National Arts Council, Singapore Embassy Berlin and the German-Chinese Association for Cultural Exchange.
As the first major piano summer academy in Berlin, FIMA offers foreign young talents, particularly those in the Asia-Pacific region like Singapore, a variety of opportunities otherwise hard to obtain in one’s early career. Participants will gain recognition through numerous solo performances and even get to perform with orchestra, while working with renowned instructors and guest speakers via the masterclasses/seminars offered. They will also get the exclusive chance to work on Bechstein’s extensive Vintage Keyboard Instrument collection, ranging from Clavichords from the Baroque Era, Fortepianos from Mozart’s time and even a Pleyel and other instruments from the early romantic period. The week-long intensive program targets the development of a well-rounded musician, which sets FIMA apart from many festivals.
As the highlight of the academy, selected participants will join Shaun Choo on stage to perform various piano concertos with the Camerata Fiestravaganza. The orchestra brings together around 40 talented musicians from diverse cultures and ethnicities, the majority of which are current students from the three major Universities of music in Berlin - Universität der Künste, Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and Barenboim-Said Akademie.
