Mosmith there is no need for that,when you lose the ball,your defenders come back instantly,and you have all of your 5 defenders staying back when the oposition is attacking.If your 2 CM's go attacking , your midfield is going to be exploited

was going to mention this, but then saw this comment. But yeah, pretty much agree. Don't care whether you can defend or not, this game doesn't require you to switch your brain on at any point. Its just an arcady game that tries to look authentic but lacks proper pacing or nuanced gameplay.

There are two kinds of people that play Fifa! The ones that wants to win games at any costs , usually uses 4-3-1-2/4-3-2-1 with Ramos, lacazetes etc up front then play long passes from defence to attack and that's it! And the ones who really wants to enjoy the game , plays with 4-3-3/4-1-2-1-2(2) formations who builds up plays , uses defence, MIDs, wingers, cams, strikers etc! Unfortunately 90% of the people only wants to win even if they don't like their own play style!!

I think the 4-3-3 (2) is the best now, especially for possession football. The best used to be 4-2-3-1 but i find it isolates the sole striker without wingers as does the 4-1-4-1.

Me too - 4231 with CDMs (CM's do just fine here) with good positioning keeps the midfield solid and sets up nicely to play on the break. Pacy wingers in the LM/RM spots really opens things up. My CAM scores a bunch too :)

***** I usually set my team's tactic to Counterattack. I also usually use a reasonably pacey CM in one of the CDM spots (usually the right - not sure why, LOL.) The line will sit back, one of the two CDM's will position himself ahead of the other one to keep a connection with the midfield and forwards. If I lose possession and they counterattack, I've already got one CDM reasonably deep, plus the other tracking back. I'll often still use an attacking mentality, so that they'll get forward quickly when we're on the attack, all depending on who I'm playing against. I'm happy with the results anyway.

Best one for me this year is 442 (2). It's very solid plus I sometimes push the wingers into a more attacking role, my record is 73-12-15 on ultimate team and I've only used that formation so far.

4-2-3-1 for me, you got the cover from the CDM's who can act as playmakers, a 3 prong attack and a front target man who you can play off.

Lord Baron Sir Hayden I guess you havent played previous fifas... I have played with india against my cousin (im slightly better, but not by much) and i have tended to beat him. And in fifa 12 i had a bronz team that destroyed everything. 1. The keepers are miles better than before the patch, the might actually save a 1 on 1 and it isnt as easy to run past them anymore. 2. Yes i have scored on 2 of my last 3 corners (near post btw) and just today alone i have scored many kind of goals that werent the tap ins you talk about. And btw pre patch that was the only way to score, now there is variety.And yes i score good build up, its all i do, as i hate clearing the ball or giving up posesion early 3. The AI has always been bad at pro clubs, and i have always played any. In every fifa 4. It is like that now, have you even played the last month? 5. And it has always been like that, play a few games and you get used to it, and maybe stop running, it makes every reaction quicker. The thing you are complaining about is the previous patch, that only was there for a month or so. IT IS FIXED NOW. I honestly cant come up with any big major issue with the game atm. It is all balanced, you can score and defend now. Now let me tell YOU something. YOU are the thing that is broken. You just want to complain and the proof is obvious. You said ''Can you score from corners? Can you score headers?'' And that just makes no sense at all. I bet you were one of the many people who complained last year about heading being OP, and now you complain that it isnt. So what are EA supposed to do, if they change all you ask for, then you will say keepers are op, passing is op etc
