I agree with attacking overpowering defending, however after playing the demo I've found playing with a deep and compact defensive line (using counter attack and defensive mentality) means that even the CPU on legendary finds it on hard to break you down. I'm hoping this will transfer well into PvP the full game is released for everyone.

That criticism about defense I feel is unfair. Defense was horrible in FIFA 15 or 16 where dashing or sprinting with players made life too easy. Playing FIFA 18 defensively is harder but only if you know how to play and time it. In fact I believe it is set up in a way that players have to get used to tactical defending.

After figuring out the mechanics, it's really not as difficult to defend. The learning curve is surprisingly difficult but rewarding. Defending more has to do with "keeping your eye on the ball" and out muscling attackers. The less you move your players trying to be fancy amd learn how they move its more understandable what you can do with what type of player

No it's not updated version of Fifa 13. Switch version is much better than Fifa 13 on Wii U. However if you have PS4 or PC, get those versions instead unless you want to play on the go. The gameplay is on different level. If you decided to buy in on switch, try to change game speed to "slow" and see if perhaps it suites you better as normal game speed on switch is not enjoyable for me.

if you look at it from an outsider's perspective (like i did before i preordered it) you think it's much more than the trailer. when you play it, it feels repetitive and it is very hard to perform skills that diverse the normal shots. tackling feels satisfying enough but i hate the lock on physical fights. the update on the passes didn't tweak anything about them, it feels the same (at least for me). i do feel that, if you do want a load of things to do in spare time in a game, fifa is for you. if you look for the same game but better quality, wait until PES gets better (which is probably now or next year)
