If there's two things Tyler hates it's beauty standards, and self-preservation... symbolized by the Mona Lisa. If you've been enjoying my content, help me make this a full time job by supporting me on Patreon :)

I got sucker punched and lost one of my front teeth back in 2006. The mona lisa line has been my motto for a long time and actually brings a healthy perspective, Kind of like the line from shawshank redemption, "Get busy living or get busy dying". If i Had not been so enamored with my own self-destruction at the time it might have really hurt my ego or bruised my pride or whatever but i felt fine without it and even embraced it. Once you hit a rock bottom, you really do find out what matters most and vanity is not it. I'm still missing the tooth...like Alfred E. Newman, who said, "What, Me Worry?"

I played hockey my entire life. A lot of my buddies have lost/missing teeth. Some of them rock it proudly, some of them got implants.

@@bizarrebreakdowns yep, to each his own. I rock it in my music videos and yeah it's crazy to me that those guys go into that sport KNOWING that that's a very very good possibility. I never saw it coming, so i had to wrap my brain around it for a minute because it was strange at first. Your friends are like, Dang, lost another tooth, let's get some tacos! I am humbled by hockey players haha.

Idea for a vid - the significance of Tyler’s change of appearance after his disappearance. Hair, facial hair, clothes

this scene (ironically) helped with getting older… I'm 50 now, and every time something physically goes to shit, i just shrug and say, "hey, even the mona lisa's falling apart."

@bizarrebreakdowns btw, wanted to ask if you could do a breakdown video on the narrator's nose ring. There's a couple scenes: one when he's at the office and says 'everything else in your life got the volume turned down' and the next one where he's out having a meal being served by someone from fight club. Just thought the use of a nose ring in these scenes was interesting, couldnt quite put my finger on a deeper meaning to it - would love to see your say

It reminds me of the following Japanse concept; wabi-sabi. Everything is temporary, imperfect and incomplete.

Is that you in the pfp? If yes you are so silly btw video idea to discuss what ideology does tyler durden believes, and like categorise what ideology matches with every aspect of tyler durden ideology, does that make sence? (sorry idk good english)

FUN FACT : Both Sean Penn and Matt Damon were considered for the role of the narrator , which Edward Norton eventually played. I really try to imagine how fight club could have been without Edward Norton but my mind somehow refuses that and I am assuming Matt Damon could have been massive in this role (gives jason bourne's vibe)!!!

so tyler hates beauty standards like plastic surgery and looks maxxing, why does the narrator imagine to be a handsome guy to be like brad pitt aka tyler durden ?

Virtually everything about TD is hypocrisy. From his style, To “gym go-er” body, to project mayhem literally becoming a corporation with a boss and sheep employees.

@bizarrebreakdowns8 ай бұрын
I think more so beauty standards. There is a line in the book that really speaks to this question. I will drop a video about it.

Around 2:28 you said "beautiful Mono Lisa"...I have to assume that everything is deliberate just like in the movie. I Helena a lot. Thanks. Thanks for another great video, as we move forward. I interviewed this week for a small job, that will be painful to travel to because of how far it is, but it is my effort to get my foot in the door for better jobs. I'm letting go of what I can to start fresh. Hopefully, that'll count towards abandoning hope, as you mentioned, and moving to the desert, as I mentioned. I also plan to go to church tomorrow. We'll see if I can do it. I keep causing delays, and then I end up staying home.
