4...Bf5 has horrific results for Black & 5...Bg4 is worse. I think this was one of the stock openings picked by tournament to increase chance of someone winning. The game with Stockfish as white was drawn. I'm not excited about the fact that an engine that can beat Stockfish, and is not available for purchase, has been developed. Unless, it is going to help Stockfish's growth.

For example, as they use opening books, if some opening is inferior for one side, they have to play it anyway, and any chess engine would beat any other chess engine in that position... IDK, but I trust Agad to show us the game if it makes sense

Thank you for presenting us with the games played by Stockfish and Leela. I follow the match also daily on the TCEC webpage and can't help myself rooting for Lc0. On the other hand, these games often have a series of moves in the mid-game which is very hard for a human player to comprehend. Thank you for trying to explain the possible reasons & keep up the great work you are doing.

Dear Agadmator, I believe that this game 53 not 54, 54 had the same opening but with stockfish as white. Usually even-numbered game is with stockfish as white and odd-numbered games are when LC0 as white

They both calculate the centipawn difference in the position. If both agree that one engine is winning by 10+, it is treated as a resignation.

Hi Agad. You got the point. Defending worse or lost postions is what makes a strong player. A strong player uses all ressources to make winning harder for you. One has to win the game more than one time. Weaker players loose such games without a fight.

if i understand correctly stockfish keeps analyzing the position trying all possible moves untill it finds the best move possible so how can it lose. does the parameters that leela and alphazero identify the best move upon are better than stockfish's and if not then why are they superior to stockfish?
