@@nicksangetta8874 Inflation has been bad, but there's not much a president can do to lower it. The current administration has been getting it under control by raising interest rates. As far as I can tell prices have stabilized. Interest rates have leveled off or maybe started to come down. Prices are not likely to go down, so it doesn't feel any better yet. But there are some good signs, for example I got gas for $2.80 in Longmont the other day. His plan to put tariffs on imports from China would make most of the things we buy more expensive. It would also make raw materials more expensive for American businesses. Eventually it would lead to more American manufacturing, but that takes years to change. Probably a good thing. But even then, American manufacturing is not cheap, and I don't see how it would get significantly cheaper. Reducing immigration would reduce the supply of relatively cheap labor. Unemployment is low right now, so if Americans were to take all the jobs being done by immigrants, it would be super competitive for businesses to find people. That would lead to higher wages which is probably a good thing. But businesses paying higher wages have to charge higher prices. It seems like a vicious cycle. Housing is super expensive because interest rates are high, and that's a huge problem. But housing prices went up drastically when interest rates were low, because people could afford to borrow unreasonable amounts of money. The problem seems to be not enough supply. Harris wants to build 3 million new housing units. Actually both candidates seem to have similar ideas for housing.
