Blessings to this man. He articulates everything I have been feeling for so many years, and truly touches my heart. This shows the value of men and women withdrawing from the world in order to walk more freely and fully with Christ - so the rest of us, in the world may benefit from the wisdom of such disciplines as solitude, silence, prayer, and all our Heavenly Father chooses to reveal to us through these mediums. I had been praying for this kind of KZbin teaching, and now I feel I have come across a soul brother - a light shining in a broken world.

They are difficult because my love is imperfect. If I allowed love to guide me always, there would be nothing difficult in anything. This applies to all of us, of course, but I see that most clearly in me because I can see my own heart. May God bless us all and may He increase our love.

Dear Andemariam, my heart aches with pain and humility at the sight of suffering, whatever form it may take. It pains me because we are all one, and it humbles me because I know that suffering comes with grace. The grater the suffering of a person or even a nation, the greater the grace which will be poured over them. Think of the Crucified One, the One Who opened for us the path to the Resurrection. Be blessed, dear one, and stay safe.

When I (a Catholic) walk into a Catholic Church I feel Christ's presence. When I walk into an Orthodox (my wife is Orthodox) church I feel Christ's presence. But we cant commune. It makes my shoulders slump, my heart weep, and my faith weaken.

Father: I just purchased one of your Icons--one that is YOUR ARTWORK: Christ-the Good Shepherd..It is I, Mark, who forever offers commentary whenever creatures are included in your videos. So happy to own this Icon of Christ with a Lamb wrapped around his neck! "Behold, I make all things new." I may have it all wrong...I probably do. I don't know. Fr Tom Hopko would say, "Christ never said-- 'I make all new things". I lost my only companion this past July; her passing very nearly took me with her. She happened to have been feline, but I cared for her like one would a infant or toddler. I believe the future age will be populated with ALL THINGS that Christ makes new. All living in peace and in love, I believe that creatures will be there and, of course, will belong to God. Perhaps the Saints and the whole of creation,, are, at this very moment, peering into The what will be...a glimpse of the new earth. This is my very first Icon. I realize that messages below mine are addressing far larger, more important concerns. Perhaps something I should address with a Spiritual Father (should he appear). I hope that it's a good thing, to love the creatures God has charged us with caring for; it seems to me that we are very nearly their guardian angels.s

How does one feel love if they are so jaded by the troubles of the world? Even though they pray go to the sacraments and ask God continuously. But the world beats them down constantly. I'm talking a regular person that has a full time job, family to take care of, but makes a sincere effort to be Christian. Just over time the feelings of any compassion love even hatred slowly dwindle away..like there is no feeling.. Except a very very slight joy and a desire to be around God, inside the Catholic Church.

Thank you for sharing the practical help taught by the Church. This Bible verse came to mind: “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Some people who want you around, do not allow you to really love them. yet they want you to love them. what kind of love is it to just allow them to control everything you do around them so they can retain their little world, and think they have love. its so difficult because my heart really wants to love them. that spirit that causes them to rebel against love causes us to want to give up on them.

Dear Rebecca, when we reach the point when our faith is almost gone (and we are ALL tempted by this), make yourself blind to the arguments of your mind and stubbornly choose to survive spiritually based on faith, not your own wisdom. Don't get frightened either - at times, our faith grows weaker for a while; bow down your head, allow humility to grow in you and WAIT for the Lord. He will return and your joy will be SO much greater. Be blessed, dear one, be blessed.

There is a reason why the Fathers of the Desert used to say that prayer is the most difficult thing in the world. Prayer feeds our love for God and humanity, which is why is is so opposed by all the powers around us (of this world and of the spiritual world). The more we lose ourselves to love for our neighbour, the more we find our true selves in Christ. Be blessed, dear Zachary.
