This game in particular rewards exploration. There is so much to be discovered around every corner. Plus, you'll inevitably level up and get stronger in the process making these larger enemies much easier to deal with. Love your videos, Jonesy. You're always fun to watch.

Ya, there is a ton of stuff that you could do before tackling the castle or beyond. Finding upgrade material is a good idea. Look for caves and mines on the map ( easy to spot, black holes) Unfortunately this game is very stingy on early upgrade materials. It definitely limits experimentation. Especially since there are hundreds of weapons available. The sword you got by beating Darriwil last episode is VERY Strong and has carried many tarnished through the entire game. Bloodhound's Fang. It is buffable and has native bleed build-up. It scales very well with Dexterity, and has a fantastic Ash on it (L2 - can be followed with R2) Good Luck!! 🍀

Great video, great job with Margit the fell omen my first time took me loads of attempts, the closer you get to beating a boss it does make you panic and heart rate does go up but after it does feel really good and a massive relief afterwards, watching your playthrough makes me want to give this game another go.

Congratulations Jonesy! You did great! Once again, showing us how good you are with these games, even though you don't believe it!! I don't know if you missed good armor at this point, but you said you, wanted a dexterity/strength build. You got one of the best dex/str weapons already, the bloodhound's fang, it's a curved sword, it's a heavy one tho but excellent! Thanks for the fun playthrough! Excellent dodging against Margit. Great job Jonesy! Loved the reaction. That is pure gamer stuff right there! ❤ The guards in the castle drop my usual early game choice of armour BTW. It's not bad at c all (even if it makes you look like Wilfred from the Bash Street Kids - just badly aged myself there!) Serious note. The direction sites of grace point you in are kind of situational. Go to South Limgrave and they will point South for example. Just the game telling you there's more than one route. The difficulty spike will tell you how advisable being there is😂 Already looking forward to the next one!

Jelly and Screams for everyone! 😂 There's no need to apologise for playing your playthrough your way. Personally, I really enjoy it when you go off exploring, as you'll never know what you might find or who you'll bump into (good or bad). I also enjoy watching you smash everything in sight with your 'Barrel-Rolls' 🤣. The destructive sound is oddly satisfying - either that or I'm a little weird! 🤭 Thanks for another awesome upload, Jonesy! Now, go smash the week (use of more 'Barrel-Rolls' is optional 🤣) 😊

NICE work taking out Margit the Fell Omen so quickly. In your winning match, you performed this beautiful rapid set of five dodge rolls in a row shortly before finishing him off. Lovely stuff. That yellow summon sign outside the door to the Margit fight was Rogier, the sorceror you met in the church in Stormveil Castle in the next episode. You were musing about the holes in the castle and what the heck happened there. If you pick up any thorny shields in the castle, reading their lore may help fill you in on that mystery. Don't feel too bad about offing Gostoc the Gatekeeper. The little twit locks us into the room with the big Banished Knight (you can hear his laugh as it happens) and steals 30% of our runes every time we die in the Castle. He's just a weasely plunderer. Clearly your superior instincts told you this man needs to die. I see you are intending a DEX-leaning QUALITY build at this point. May I give a shout out to a couple of worthy things? First is the Flail you picked up from one of the Gatefront Ruins coffin carts (didn't see you check it out at all yet?). Very useful fun weapon which does Strike damage which is particularly needed for some enemies. Its weapon art (L2) Spinning Chain is super fun and powerful to use in certain situations. It's basically a bleed blender that shreds through bosses and foes as long as you hold L2 down and can get away with it. The other thing is ranged stuff, bows (love the Longbow), and throwables: kukri in particular which cause Bleed which is such a powerful damage status to inflict. Fire pots are super effective at times too. This game gives us such a diversity of tools to use. It's definitely worthwhile to try a lot of them out, because a lot of them really are quite good. Cheers!

18:53 Armor... welp, you can certainly farm enemies over and over again for a % chance they'll drop various pieces of their armor set. My advice is to learn how to boost your 'Discovery' value (it's tied to one of your other stats). The higher the discovery value, the greater % chance enemies will drop something of interest. You can also sometimes find whole sets off of corpses and chests... but obviously you can't tell what they are from a distance, because they're all represented by shiny balls of light. This game really knows how to make you not want to leave a 'shiny' (thing) uncollected.

One thing is when ur wolf summons are attacking . The boss will concentrate on them. U should be viciously attacking simultaneously. You will be able to do big damage. If not he’ll just kill ur summons then you 😂. Good vid tho. Also when u die u drop all ur runes where u die at . U have to go back there n get them. U left urs at that Margit fight. Js

Crucible Knight on Stormhill is lesson #2 in the game saying, "You WILL encounter things you clearly are not yet ready for, and the best idea is probably just to come back later." It's always fun seeing someone's first encounter with Crucible Knight. All the nonchalance and glee rapidly evaporates, heh.
