Cruise news today. A video of a fight in the Carnival Paradise Lido dining room emerged when it returned to Tampa last month. If you’re cruising this week, keep in close contact with your cruise line for possible itinerary changes as the tropics are heating up in the Caribbean. If it’s not a hurricane impacting ships, it’s a dry dock. Royal Caribbean just sent letters to guests sailing on Brilliance of the Seas next May, telling them their cruise has been canceled for dry dock repairs. Cruise line stocks for CCL, RCL, NCLH, and VIK.

Good morning Doug. We are Diamond on Royal Caribbean and Diamond on Carnival. We almost saw a fight in the MDR on Liberty of the Seas. A passenger was able to diffuse the situation. We've never seen a fight on Carnival. On any of the majors, a 3 day cruise is a Booze Cruise.

We sailed on the Carnival Sunrise June 1-6 and a huge fight broke out outside our daughter’s cabin on deck 2 the last night. Same category clientele as seen in this video. Looking for other cruise lines that are more expensive, thus safer.

You are 100% correct. Our cruise was filled with that demographic to where we were outnumbered by a large margin. I got up one morning and a young man was walking down the hall blasting music out of his phone and every other word was the N word or the F word. They have no regard for anyone else. Carnival is truly the Walmart of cruise lines.

Reading some comments amazes me. There is nothing wrong with Carnival. We cruised 5 Carnival ships before wanting to try other lines. After cruising with RCCL and NCL, we switched back to Carnival. Not all of us drink ourselves silly and act like fools. Carnival has beautiful ships, great food, and it’s a great vacation value. My second choice would be NCL, as their buffet and Freestyle Cruising are great. You can keep RCCL. Too expensive.

It is the shorter cruises that are a problem regardless of line. They tend to have a party atmosphere and thus more drinking.

I have never been on any other line, but I trust the people that I know that have and say never again.. We are waiting on our 7th Carnival cruise in a few months and can't wait.. I'm not surprised that some snobs think that these incidents only occur on Carnival and nowhere else.. My family including our children were on the Paradise on June 16-20. No fights and haven’t seen any on our other Carnival cruises. It’s sad but it’s not on Carnival. I have seen a few fights on Carnival over the last 13 years. Most have been on the short 3,4, five day cruises. Many of the fights intensity seem to have increased over the last 3 years. One fight was on the Breeze several years ago with over 20 passengers outside my cabin door. I have seen passengers fake falls for insurance gains. I have also seen fake fights with a room mate in order to get a private room. With booze being pushed and drinking packages available and with gambling losses, dense crowded populations, and free or greatly reduced prices helped by the casino it is no wonder more fights aren't reported. As for the security staff I think they do a good job for the authority they do not have.

Don't be. I've been on a lot of Carnival cruises and I've never seen a fight or even heard loud voices. The secret is to go on cruises not shorter than 7 nights. These short booze cruises on Carnival are so cheap, it encourages people who don't know how to act in public, to sign up.

No need to be scared. I’ve done 12 Carnival cruises and have never witnessed a fight. I would suggest doing the longer cruises 7 days or more. Unfortunately the 3 day cruises does attract the bigger party people, especially Bachelor/Bachelorette parties or those wanting to cut loose. I don’t the exact number of cruises Carnival does each week with few incidents but of course the fights make the news.

We were on Paradise recently in Showroom when altercation took place. Security was called in but, as in this instance, too late to save a lot of guests from a very bad experience. Yes, CCL has Security, but in my opinion, and having been on Paradise many times, Security is not pro active. They are not where the masses are, they are where they choose to be; Usually overlooking the entertainment in the atrium. Just saying.

Carnival needs to hire REAL security for their 3 day party cruises. I have seen fights on every single 3 day I have taken and won't ever again do a weekend cruise on carnival again. Every time the security had been a joke and are not tough enough to step in and break up the fights before they start they sit back and wait for at least 5 others to show up and the fight has already been taken to the ground to late hire some security that will do the job right!

It's a shame that you think that they need better security. I'm not signing up for a Naval deployment. I'm on a chill cruise. Because of this, and I may be wrong for doing so, but I will not sign up for a Carnivore Cruise. That's all that some of these folks know about cruising and that's fine by me cause they won't be on the cruise line that I choose. I'm too old for that ish!

I have been on 4 cruises with Carnival and have never witnessed a fight. People do drink a lot of alcohol onboard but they are usually with others that keep them in check. Cat fight on the Carnival Valor June 15 cruise. Was a very unpleasant cruise. Juveniles running around running into people (knocked me into a wall with no.apology or anything), kicking room doors, no parents around, and a lot of foul language. Boarded in New Orleans. We complained but doubt anything was done. This was our 3rd cruise but my family's first. Our first 2 cruises were awesome but they also were 12 years ago. This one was horrible. Will seriously consider cruise line on our next cruise. Sad.

I feel bad for the folks who have invested so much time in cruising with Carnival. These folks have obtained a high status with many Perks. Really not fair. But I understand some cruise lines will match your loyalty status. I am Elite with Princess. They aren't perfect but they have a classy group of cruisers! I get bored sometimes but I like feeling safe! We were on the Carnival Magic Thanksgiving 2022. There were groups who stormed onto elevators, cut in line, disruptive in shows and trivia. I love Carnival Cruise line. In my experience they’re the most diverse as far as music/activities, demographics like race/age, nationality/religion and they can accommodate our son’s disability in the camp area. I was recently on a Carnival cruise and it was the worst experience. They can care less about the safety of their guests. That was the first and last time we ever cruise with Carnival. My husband broke up a fight due to everyone standing around looking. Security did nothing. One of the men threatened to kill the other. It was scary.

It was my first carnival cruise 11 years ago. The staff on the ship other than the cruise director in large part failed to do their jobs.
