12:30 I've seen comments by other fighter pilots who mentioned Rooster actually messed up in the starting sequence for the F14. The reason the ejectable seats didn't work was not they were faulty, but Rooster didn't arm them before they took off (IIRC apparently you need to remove a pin somewhere to arm the seats, and Rooster never did that, most likely because he didn't know about it).

The taking off in the tomcat part was included because in WW2 an American pilot stole an enemy plane, after crashing his and flew it back to a friendly air base. The reason for the accuracies in the movie is down to Tom. He played a large part in all aspects of this movie while it was being made.

@alexanderdgray Half a mach at altitude is about 300 mph. Didn't destroy The SR71s that reached 3.5 mach and the faster A12. Pilots and radar confirmed this. Mach is not a constant. The F104 could reach 103,000 ft unassisted and over 120,000 with assist. Kelly Johnson planes and Lockheed.

All they would of had to do for dropping the laser guided bombs is after release just pull up and do an Immelmann and go back to the deck. You probably can do it before hitting the crest of the mountain where the SAMS are. At peak of the turn throw some chaff and flares out just in case. Then you are low and fast cause you punch it on the way down and you just go out the way you came in which has already proven to be a relatively safe ingress route. Or better yet take 6-7 of the tomahawks and take out the top of the mountain sam sites in addition to the runway/airbase. But it would not of been as exciting.

Areobatics an important part of fighter pilots ' training to develop air combat abilities in trainee fighter pilots, specially for dogfight scenarios. Yes, it's unfair to compare Tomcat (F-14) with a 5th gen fighter jet, but in case of a dogfight between the two, result very much depends upon the skills and abilities of the fighter pilot that's flying the aircraft. In a BVR combat 5th gen fighter jet can easily shoot down Tomcat(F-14).

I’d trust professionals unless you’re somekind of lagendary ex professional air force pilot

5th generation fighters are not piloted by noobs you know , it's just Hollywood .
@topgun14576 ай бұрын
@@5co756 well the 57 is not really a true fifth gen to start with its a 4.5 and to be honest did you think those su-57's would get a lot of in cockpit dogfight training and even if they did they would be training vs planes that fly like the f-18 not the f-14

What about Bob wearing glasses? Can pilots have corrected vision now?
@MrGruffteddybear2 жыл бұрын
Bob wasn't a pilot, He was a weapons systems officer. And yes, aviators can have corrected vision. Most that do wear contacts, not glasses.

The F-14 is still the most beautiful bird to fly

Irony is that movie actors in topgun is remembered for ever, but the real fighters like himself is just another pawn in the real-world .

This is way better than CinemaSins. This is some informative and enjoyable nitpicking.
