After the formal parade, we showed off our new skills to our guests. I remember that when the 2" mortars were fired, the flares blew over to where the guests were standing and they had to move PDQ! Typical of Falaise Platoon! Great fun.

RAF seems to live better than U.S. Army Aviation living in tents most of your flying career. At my Flight School Graduation in 1986 at Fort Rucker the classes are required to pay for their own graduation party. The Command Leadership table ate & drank for free, for us Warrant Officer Candidates we had Officer expenses on SGT pay for the whole year training. Retired from USAR as CW3 Senior Army Aviator.

I must say, it sure was refreshing to see these young men, and how they have overcome their difficulties to succeed. Also, totally refreshing was NOT seeing young men, with their trousers hanging down (while always devoting one hand to keep them from hitting the floor); in addition, not once did I hear: "I be"; "you be", or "he be" - or: Whazzzzz zuppp? Ahhh, yes all of that is quite refreshing. Although I did see one young man, "of color", don't remember him holding up his pants!
