After beterbievs last fight everyone was thinking he’s gonna choose beterbiev because he looked weaker, especially the biased hater channels. Then he surprised everyone picking bivol the most skilled boxer at 175, the hater channels knew this but kept saying bivol was just another European bum and for canelo to face a real challenge in benavidez, charlo, andrade, spence. Now that bivol beat canelo they’re all to happy, now bivol isn’t a European bum. I think canelo underestimated bivols power and speed, we all did I don’t think we’ve seen bivol kick it up to the gear he used in the canelo fight, we’ve seen little spurts of it but not a whole fight which shows how dangerous canelo could be and shows that bivol is an elite fighter. @@misael008 I think Canelo should have fought Jermall Charlo and Demetrius Andrade first before fighting Dimitry Bivol. Canelo fought and beat Billie Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant. Andrade and Charlo been calling out Canelo for the last three years or so. The fans wanted to see those fights. Bivol was a nobody and didn't even have a championship belt like Andrade and Charlo. Canelo could have even fought David Benevidez. Canelo going up in weight at 175 to fight Sergey Kovalev was a little easy because Kovalev wasn't at his best and past his prime.

Its not that he weighs more , Bivol only weighed 184 in the ring. Its that Canelo needs to rely on his power because he dosnt have height and reach, and if the taller fighter can defend well the shorter fighter will always lose. Its just Canelo met an elite fighter with great defence and counter and his short reach worked against him, in lower divisions reach less important.

The only other welterweight to even become champ at 175 is 6'1 Hearns. So yeah, it was a huge leap especially for a shorter fighter like Canelo who looked sluggish carrying extra weight. If the situation were reversed with Bivol being 5 inches shorter and moving up to his 5th division it would obviously be a different fight lol. Bivol did what he was supposed to as a skilled bigger man beating the naturally smaller man but he's got more work to do in his division. He still hasn't even unified.

These two guys have already sparred many times and they know each other, Believe this will won`t be the same fighting Canelo than fighting Zurdo. Most of the time a good big fighter beat a smaller good fighter and this is why categories has been created, everytime a fighter moves up in weight is more difficult because of the weight.
