First off let’s get something straight. Manny Pacquiao doesn’t need to beat Spence to concrete his legacy or be top 5. He’s already been there for years now. Roach is absolutely right when he said no one will win championships in 8 division again. It’s a phenomenal feat. Also, Manny has fought tougher opponents then all of his contemporaries. Which in my book and many others makes him one of the greatest of all time. I’d say he’s definitely top 5 somewhere. And that’s counting ALL weight divisions and ALL time. An afterthought. IF Mayweather wasn’t such a pussy and fought Pacquiao in both their primes, he would have suffered the only loss of his career.

Only way Pacquiao loses this fight is if Low Blow Spence fights dirty again. If u don’t believe me… go back n watch Spence vs Porter.
@johncharles8573 жыл бұрын
Yeah… the person throwing low blows can lose by having points deducted (if the ref is doing his job) and the person receiving low blows can be weakened to the point where his fight game is off. There is a reason points are deducted for low blows (by good refs)If Errol would have had points deducted for all the low blows he did to Porter (had that lame ref given him a warning first) the fight may have had a different outcome common sense Errol is a dirty fighter like Maidana. Fighters have won n lost fights as a result of low blows. Check your boxing history. If that were not true there would be no rule against it and fighters could hit their opponents with as many low blows as they desire.

Difference between Spence and Thurman is 1 punch knockout power Thurman cracks lot harder than Spence
@leadlefthand3 жыл бұрын
Yep - but Spence throws a lot more from round to round. The challenge against Errol is different in that you don't want Errol to be able to set you up against the ropes so he can start throwing a barrage of body shots. Manny needs to hurt Errol coming forward and force Errol to fight on the back foot (which Errol isn't good at). Against Thurman, it was more of getting him to commit and over extend his jab or cross, and then Manny counters then strats throwing combinations on the inside before Thurman retreats. Thurman has quick feet to retreat and reset, which is why Pacquiao found it difficult to hit Thurman with those 6-7-8 punch combos. It was always in 3-5 spurts if the opportunity presented itself. Errol on the other hand has a tendency to mix things up and try to outpunch you, which favours Manny's style. Of course, Manny needs to be able to hurt Spence for that to work in Manny's favour. If not, Spence will just try to walk down Manny, which at 42 years old, isn't ideal for Manny down the stretch.
@baoho72933 жыл бұрын
Both true. Thurman is also a lot more mobile and has faster hands. Spence is more durable. Pac has to take away the jab, use in and out and lateral movement. Get spence's respect by hurting him early. If he cant, or runs out of gas spence wins. If he can, it will another cotto, or margarito type fight.

@@yuukistraussable I agree. Welterweight has beed a glamorous division for a long time now. But if Manny stayed around even 135# he would have dominated a long time like Duran did before he moved up. Spence is like many WW who walk around in the 170s-180s and cut weight heavily for the advantage. It is amazing Manny began at 106# and has such a long and successful career. Filipinos are not worried about Manny's fighting Spence. Boxing is Manny's turf. As their national sports hero, Filipinos love him. But Filipinos are not stupid to entrust the fate of the country to a boxer who lacks the intellectual capacity to run a nation. Because of his intention to run for president as early as late last year, he now becomes the social media target of insults and despise by the same Filipinos who love him. Manny was elected to the Philippine senate only as a gesture of thanks by the Filipinos for his exploits in boxing. But aspiring to run as president of a country with many college graduates and a high literacy rating is another thing. As a foreigner and a huge fan of Manny, I can only hope he will reconsider his intent to run for president. If he runs, he will not only lose the election but also a considerable amount of whatever wealth he still has.

Fun fact: Floyd Jr. never fought an elite boxer in their prime years(25 - 32 yrs old) and proper weightclass. Now count how many elite boxers in their prime that former flyweight(Pac) fought. Floyd beating Pac doesn't make him better than Pac. The same as Charlo beating Floyd(if Floyd fight on a division he doesn't belong) doesn't make Charlo better than Floyd.

Haha! Manny's Father ate his dog! I can somewhat relate. When i was a kid, the people who lived with us had a dog and their dog got hit by a car and died. I remember going home from school and asked where the little puppy was. The guy showed me the dog's severed head on a plate as he was cooking the rest of the dog's body! Crazy right? True story.

When i was a kid i saw our dog chase someone and bit them. Hours later i saw our dog hanging on a tree and they were burning off the furr before they added seasoning inside👌

Talking real Freddie talk much about Manny partners in a fight. Manny and Errol good boxers but can be more confident Manny will stop Errol. Unlike in other fight like Thurman's

Spence will be a very tough fight. Manny *will have a much tougher fight campaigning and winning as President.* He is now being hit left and right (from different directions) in the Philippines when he questioned corruption in Duterte's government as a prelude to his (Manny's) candidacy for Presidency. Manny will definitely run IF or when he wins against Spence.

At the press conference Spence kept saying the fight was “October” 21st. First time I said ok, second time it was like is this guy all there…

If manny speed is a big difference come fight night and Spence is having trouble timing him then I think Pac-Man wins on points!!
