Greatness in boxing is best quantified in the number of championships in as many weight class possible. A feat so difficult that only PACMAN is the only 8 division world champion. That makes him the GOAT, above and beyond all the boxing greats.

Not in my opinion. Floyd and Ali ahead. Floyd for his dominance in the sport for his whole career (50-0) and for his brilliant business and marketing plan. Ali for the impact he had not only on the sport but the whole culture.
@el34glo595 жыл бұрын
@@arttuhuhtala7038 Floyd is not. Ali and SRR and arguably a few others are. Maybe more than a few. And I'm a huge Pacquiao fan. But people need to calm down. He didn't fight in the 80s or even 90s. You can't just throw him up at number 1. Lol I have him top 15. Maybe higher depending on a few factors that I have to not only consider but see play out before he retire

EL34 XF2 LiFe for me floyd is atleast top 5 if not top 2
@el34glo595 жыл бұрын
@@arttuhuhtala7038 I cannot put Floyd close to that high. I'm sorry man. He didn't demolish guys first of all Yeah he made fools out of some. He's a defensive wizard. I have him as one of the best lightweights I've ever seen. But his competition, was ok. I mean bro if he fought Morales, Barrera, DLH, SSM, Pacquiao, etc in their primes, and beat them all then I would absolutely have him up in the top 3. And I understand that wasn't possible for all of them, so don't jump on me. A 0 means absolutely nothing to me. Marciano has one too. I have him nowhere near the top either. I watched Zab Judah hive Mayweather some serious issues for a good part of that fight. And Judah was like a poor mans Mosley Put MM in the 90s, at welter, in everyone's prime and he loses, maybe more than once. Put him in tbe 80s and he'd be in serious trouble imo. At lightweight and welter. Those were 15 round fighters that fought often. Big difference. Those 80s guys would have figured him out pretty quickly imo. Mayweather the lightweight. One of the bets I've ever seen. Mayweather the welter. Great business man and defensive wizard. Mayweather ran through guys at lightweight. Pacquiao did it in many divisions. Too very different fighters yes, but Mayweather was absolutely dominating guys at lightweight. Completely different fighter. Pacquiao same thing. Wouldn't be as easy for him at all. But considering how he ran through the divisions like he did. And he's smaller and started smaller. And imo is the literal definition of a P4P fighter. I have him higher. And I think in his prime Mayweather gets caught by him. Mayweather opened up more in his prime and that only helps pacquiao. Mayweather landed the least amount of punches in his career against Pacquiao. And out of prime, 5'5", pacquiao coming foward all night. I think they both looked bad and it was a disgrace. Even saying that, I saw pacquiao barely touch him on the end of a left punch and Mayweather go backwards. Wasn't even a good punch. A prime Pacquiao was a fucking machine. Anyway getting off topic. Both fought in good eras. But not prime eras. So I can't put either at 1-5. Just can't. I'd have Pacquiao at 14 right now, and Mayweather 15-16 range.

This was the prime Pacquiao that Floyd ducked for 5 years! Prime Pacquiao kills floyd mayweather. But I also know that old floyd beats old pacquiao because of the style of fight favors floyd at older age but in primes, it favors pacquiao and floyd knew this, hence ducking the fight.
@johnwesley38855 жыл бұрын
I agree that Floyd ducked a prime Pacqiaou, his father even told him not take a fight with him when it seemed like he may have back then. I stopped liking Floyd as a fighter after that, he's smart but smart guys become neurosurgeons warriors should occupy the ring. I thought it was a fight he could have lost or won but I would have respected him more either way. Manny on the other hand was taking on all comers.
@breakaway2x5 жыл бұрын
@@johnwesley3885 100% agreed Will. That's exactly what I've been saying. Maybe floyd would have still won against a prime pac, I totally concede to that as being very possible, and if that happened, I too, would have a ton more respect of floyd and call him a true great. That's what upsets me. If he was the so-called self proclaimed TBE (the best ever), he sure didn't fight like it. He avoided a lot of dangerous fights to take fights he knows he could win. Where's the greatness in that? Sure he has a nice clean record, but against what competition? Where was the challenge and adversity? That's my problem with floyd and his arrogance. Ali would say he was the greatest, too, but he actually backed it up by fighting the best and most dangerous fighters of his time....Ali lost 5 times but I have more respect for him losing 5 times and proving he was the greatest ever than floyd being undefeated but never going to battle with the most challenging fights. Pacquiao on the other hand did nothing but rise to the occasion taking on bigger stronger fighters all the time.....he constantly put himself in a disadvantage by just moving up the weight classes he never should naturally be in.....he could have stayed at lightweight like lomachenko and go on a 50 fight win streak with 47 KOs and proclaim to be the best ever...but no, he decided to challenge himself, to take on bigger mountains, and put himself in greater risk because the reward was far greater. That's why Pacquiao is GREAT and floyd is not. I agree with you.
