Yep agree I bought it but haven’t had chance to play it due to work it looks really good. People saying GoT is better, I have that game too and while it looks colourful it’s SP art style and doesn’t represent real life colours, RotR looks more realistic in terms of colour palate, graphically I don’t have an issue as it is twice as big a game as GoT at 100+ hours I’m hearing. Can’t wait to play it!

The final blow dmg is like straight up just a normal hit on dmg. Even the bomb dmg. Throwing two barrels did maybe even like 10% of their health

I will say when I played on the just normal difficulty on the first boss dude throwing the barrels at him seemed like it did nothing really to damage him it was more efficient to dodge then strike after his combo or perfect parry all his attacks it’s like the game wants to be sekiro with out being sekiro and I found myself having a bad time blocking the bullets outside of the boss found it easier to parry his pistol 😂😂😂😂then the long charge of the dudes that had rifles. I’m still early in the game but I don’t know what this game wants to be sekiro or ghost or any of the other games 😂

TBF, Ninja Gaiden had maybe the highest skill ceiling when it came to combat. How incredibly detailed and difficult those games were. It was DMC-level difficulty. Nioh had a completely different type of flow to the combat, borrowing a lot from the new souls genre at the time. And yes, it revamped their skill ceiling into something very good. But then it just went downhill from there...No idea why...More inclusion? Idk, but definitely miss the Nioh days for sure.

Team Ninja was obsessed with the parry gameplay Sekiro and GoT got, while Nioh 2 actually got the peak of gameplay for any video games. They can't even replicate the parry from Sekiro anyway since team ninja has a tendency to make the game too fast and smooth that the weight behind each parry is incomparable to Sekiro.

In nioh 2 there wasn't even a blade twin Like the monkey (always forget his name) just wanted to collect amrita to rise the ranks the only problem was he couldn't fight whatsoever And there you come in a half human half yokai Well I guess that just seemed handy I mean you notice it at the later stages the monkey rises the ranks while you just are still the same puppet for every fight that pops up So yes you shared the same name but what more was he than just a lumb of flesh you dragged everywhere protecting him from the slightest bit of combat that popped up Besides the whole story purpose he was useless to the party

Im seriously considering this as a purchase, it’s between this one and Dragons Dogma but the save system and mts of DD is putting me right off that one. This looks promising but I want to get to the open world play before making a decision. Thank you for showcasing this. im not a fan of the Japanese voiceover just because I miss some of the action while reading the English subtitles! I do understand the point though, if you speak Japanese it must be horrible to hear it the anglicised version.

I played this game and thought it was ok. While the gameplay is cool and the story taking place during the Meiji Restoration Era is pretty neat, I have noticed some problems. 1. The opportunity to customize a pair of twins felt like wasted potential as the second twin who didn't get chosen as the Main Character isn't playable and is more of a reoccurring boss. I felt that the Evil Bladed Twin could have some gameplay moments to see thing on his/her point of view. 2. The romance in this game never really made that much of an impact as they're just one off relationships before characters like Taka and Ryoma were killed off. Both of them didn't get one last kiss with the main character before dying. 3. The whole choosing sides between the Shogunate and the Imperial Army was a good concept, but it wasn't that engaging as that was just a series of side quests. 4. There are a lot of historical inaccuracies such as weaponry. There are some weapon options to use a medieval longsword or two handed sword even though swords like that are put on display. Plus a lot of enemies, mainly the Europeans tend to use shields in combat even though the use of shield was obsolete.

Once you have multiple stances the combos get pretty nice just like other team ninja games. However to my knowledge you can’t change martial skills on stances.

The game looks good but I might have a few combat ideas L1 should be block and parry not L1 block and triangle parry Triangle should be a heavy attack to form combos with And my final thought is they should have implemented nioh stances (can't help it I really love the stance system) I feel that would have made a satisfying combat with nioh and sekiro influences Now I feel they took wo long influences with the material arts but I always felt that the material arts were a step down from the nioh stances

God this makes me so sad. This game looks great, I can feel Nioh and it's influence, but dammit why did they feel the need to dumb down the combat?!? They already added easy mode difficulty settings and an accessibility mode that attacks for you, why strip the game of what draws Team Ninja's core fan base back to all their games? I won't be buying the game until there is a PC release, hopefully when that time comes we have some great combat mods we can install.

Is it just me or are the transitions to and from one cutscene to the next really abrupt. Like one second he gets shot and falls from a ship, next he's at the grave? Next, he wakes up instantly to an attack at his village without any forwarning sounds, screams, cutscene anything? Feels really jarring and kind of throwing off the pacing. It almost feels like there were cutscenes that were supposed to play between them all to show how one thing led to the next, but they got cut or bugged out, or Cowboy just skipped them (I know that's not what happened, but that's how it feels). It's just too quick and sudden and like wtf?

@velocityaimer8204 pc games have all graphical options unlocked and resolutions upscaled or original. Consoles have weaker resolutions upscaled to be 4k and not all graphic options are available or are locked to a lower spec so it maintains its fps. So games will always look better on pc then consoles

Martial arts doing less damage is lifted wholly from Wo Long. Took them 2 DLCs to allegedly fix it in that game. Before then, skills were worse off than the basics. Absolutely pathetic to hear that they didn't learn their lessons properly for Rise of Ronin.

On the off chance anyone is curious Matthew Perry in this game is based off of a real person Admiral Matthew Perry who was sent by the President of the USA to open up Japan's borders by any means necessary to get that coveted untapped trade market. To summarize and put it crudely the Japanese people got bent over and f*cked up the butt with no lube and there wasn't anything they could do about it due to the at the time massive technological disparity between the two countries.
