In the case of pals prioritizing the stone pit over ore nodes, if you put the stone pit in a building with a door, you can open the door to allow pals in after they’ve mined all the ores and close it when you want them to focus on ore :)

The skill for faster mount speed is called swift. Some pals have it but it is random and you can breed for it. It is a significant increase

Swift + Runner + Nimble + Legend is the best combination for speed, but breeding Legend into a specific pal is hard. Jetragon might be the easiest to get all 4 via breeding, not to mention it's the fastest pal without the traits.

A really good tip is if you’ve come across one and are looking for any nocturnal pals, In the habitat screen you can “press R” or on the bottom right you can swap it from day to night

Theres actually another solid base location thats located south of desolate church. Its on an open flat circular field. Your surrounded by paldium ore and you have a natural choke point in the valley during raids and no mobs spawn there really outside of rushoars and fuacks. Theres also like 6-8 Ore nodes behind the church and I can TP to the church mine the ore and tp back to my base downhill. If I need sulfur I go in a hillside dungeon (Or for Coal as well) and mine in there for that. Then near the first tower along the dge of the ravine up top directly across from your base facing the tower, youll see the paldium ore. You get about 60 in total if you mine it all. Plus anytime a raid happens the raid monsters will start on the tower side of you seperated from the water and they just stop on the dge. So, get your gun out and kill them, glide over get the loot, then glide back, raid over. Its actually an amazing base location. Easier way to find it to is once at desolate church stand in front of the doorway with the church behind and go forward and there will be a steppe going down. From the first towerdirectly bheind it if your coming up[ the hill past the eagle statue its that open field right behind with the curve in the mountain side going up. Lvl. 28 at the moment and havent had the need to setup anywhere else yet. So far so good. Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention theres a statue of power in the church also, so might save you some extra space in your base as well. Just TP up and drop your effigys in there. edit: Had no idea I could get coordinates 87, -433 are the coords

Instead of the Blazehowl Noct, you can get a Reptyro (#88) from eggs in the volcano area similar to cryolynx that comes with lvl 3 Kindling and lvl 3 mining. Makes it great for ore bases. Astegon is also breedable instead of having to fight the level 40+ on the island.

awesome guide, you're a chad for giving locations. 1 idea for your ore base though, it's a little less automated but you can also take out a digtoise from your party and send it to clean up the ore, it'll do their attack dmg to it. I've upgraded mine, and does around 25 dmg a tick, and 31 when using the special ability

Using sprint while flying to purposefully deplete Pal stamina to fall is much faster than holding a button to descend. No damage recieved this way. You can also opt to dismount while flying and use your glider, but if glider runs out of stamina and u fall too far you will take dmg and probably die. It is also possible to mount while gliding, although not consistently enough to be reliable. The trick to burn your stamina to fall is where its at. Especially when youre very high up and want to descend quickly.

What i do instead of breaking down the stone quarry or logging site: build a couple foundation pieces as high up as it lets you, (i use stone since wood can catch fire) and a set of stairs. Break down the stairs and they cant get up to the worksites. Yeah, you get your materials back, but stairs are instant build, and the basic ones are 2 wood. Been working for me so far.

For cooling pals it’s better to use ones that only cool or they’ll slack off and you’ll lose food. Foxsicle is a good choice. Not sure if you need higher cooling for more advanced fridges but I’ve never needed to make them because space is not an issue

if youre willing to commit a party slot to it, galeclaw will give you a small boost forward any time you use it as your glider, and you can chain it to vastly increase how far you can glide

check out 190, -40 ore and coal and then a great sulfur location is right by the volcano tower. tons of sulfur right next to a fast travel point and killamari is a great transporter its only level 2 but its a small creature and doesnt take up a ton of space

Fastest way to get a 50% speed flyer is to catch Robinquill with swift and breed it to Rex with fast walking to get Vanwyrm with both stats, the other way around works too

The game works similar to something like Minecraft where it loads regions in 'chunks' and when you leave that chunk, it unloads most everything - particularly ground items, roaming pals, etc - presumably to reduce CPU or server load. The problem is the pals from your base don't get unloaded the same way. They're still in the world but their AI gets deactivated, so they stop eating and taking breaks, leading to them starving, becoming injured, incapacitated, etc. Plus they stop working, which defeats the whole point of having the separate bases for ore and coal mining. At first I assumed this was just an issue on single player games, but no, it's also happening to people playing persistent servers. If there's not at least one person in the chunk a base is in, then this stuff starts happening.

Yeah, honestly we need more control of assigning jobs to certain pals. Like maybe there could be an advanced mode that can be enabled. It might be too much detail for the average player, but if you enable it you could tell certain pals to prioritize a certain task or whatever.
