imo if ur gonna make a play like recover predicting knock, u should just go for the ko with liquid instead. whatever comes out last likely wont sweep u cus u have toxic/haze to prevent setup. if its a breaker like the floatzel as seen u just regen spam heal it up, recover there was throw imo.

situations like turn 46 when you switched into toxapex are ones where the mind game metagame are important, and it would be worth actively considering waiting to click a move regardless of whether or not you know what you want to do (regardless of the fact of your play clicking swords dance was awesome!) brutal matchup though they had a 90th percentile team great video!

That was a great final game, even if you lost it barely. Loved the thought process and calm gameplay. Don't be down about it, there was no way in hell you would ever be able to reliably predict the final pokemon and which pokemon would be the best to keep. If you chose to keep toxapex alive, it could've ended up as a specs azelf.

It won't show it for Sinistcha because it was Masterpiece forme, not normal. Probably doesn't affect the moveset, but there might be not enough data to display it on the actual mon, but you can pull up the regular form just fine.

Play games and then review them afterwards or take notes while playing, example: I don't know what to do about pokemon X in situation Y. Then check Smogon and find out what's the best thing to do. You can also join all kinds of groups or communities, talking about the game is what makes you better and get other perspectives. Also, do what freezai does, talk yourself through the games. It's about information and the right choices for each scenario.

Know every pokemon's ability and what it does, remember speed tiers and common move sets. Use the tooltip, showdex and did it tera browser extensions. Preserve your sweepers and tera for the late game unless you have no other option. Calc a few turns ahead. Don't underestimate the importance of chip damage. If you do all that, then the biggest difference between yourself and the top players is intuition regarding predictions and probability management. The last point is very vague and something you only really get better at by analyzing your losses and trying to emulate the top randbats players.

You saved yourself very well into the endgame after some not so optimal turns, but at 34:06, you can go for liquidation if you predict them to go for knock off anyway and face the last mon with 4 instead of you 1 of yours. Not sure if toxapex would have recovered fast enough to stop bulk up +stab crunch though. 3 regenerator mons is insane, can't remember seeing this in randbats. I guess only the big names are getting these, so they don't get mad from losing too often at their favorite game. Who knows.

Yeah, recover on knock off into sac is a choke. After the recover, lowest risk play was to sack iron leaves, then go oricorio, if the deoxys psycho boosts then toxapex lives the next one.

I'm always wondering how freezai is climbing so much offscreen if he plays like this (not only talking about this single mistake). Recording must make him play worse somehow. I can't imagine he's getting away with so many (relatively for this high on the ladder of course) mistakes all the time this high on the ladder.

You still see, the mon, the item selection, and a list of possible moves… the tool fills in charts for you that you would otherwise only have in your mind thru game play and understanding of the mechanics of Pokémon. When I see a random mon in front of me, I have to think, what does this mon do . That tool, literally tells you, this is all that mon can and will do. On many levels. Which , personally , takes away from the randomness. Or more so, the actual knowledge that’s needed to be able to play randoms. Not taking the salt from this guy, he is a great player all day every day. It just felt weird the first time I realized, he’s using something else. Popped up in my mind when he was talking about something else limiting the randomness. I think a bout the stealth rock mandate, which I agree would limit the randomness.

Last year houndstone was game defining via last respects, but then one day that just wasn't possible anymore. It's not really fair to expect players to memorize sets that aren't even constant
