We used something similar to the star bar products. The ones we used were just disposable bags, but they definitely worked. And yeah, they stink! We had a huge fly invasion for June and July, to the point where you almost couldn't sit outside. The traps hung nearby did help us out. Yours are definitely doing their job!

Back in the day Papa would tie a bag between two trees so it would hit the cows on their back whenever they walked under it. Idk what he put in it as far as the brand but it was some kind of fly control powder. You would have to be strategic on placing it so you know they would have to walk under it.

Hmmm, that could be a really good idea if we have a chute or something that the cows pass through, instead of powder we could possibly use the same concept and put a large tarp with a sticky side so as the cows slide under it, the flies would run into the tarp and get stuck :D Thank you so the ideas!!! ^_^

me too! So naturally that was the first thing we were considering getting, but my mom has worked with horses for years and this was her strong recommendation along with another person who happened to walk up while we were looking at all the options! ^_^

I use the Ranch Fly Trap it hands and is mesh it seems to work good you can put fresh poop in there and draw flies in w o chemicals
