Except that is a legit strat in this game. Energy is used for two things: shooting and building. If you have surplus energy, that means that you can either shoot or build more. If your cannons are too far back to shoot, move them closer, even into the creep. If they die, build more, that's what energy is for. Once you have nullifiers, let your surplus energy build up every once in a while so that the nullifiers don't shut down, but other than that, stay as close to 0 surplus as possible.

I mean, if you do it right, you can move up a lot faster than with slowly creeping forward. The problem is that he's not supplying the landing cannons, which isn't hard to do.

I found this one of the simpler levels, once I got past the start. Just terraform the walled area so its secure, then you can build weapons before the creep gets over

Tom, love these vids but some tips for you; Start with 1-2 towers and then do the big pause and build, it'll improve your start so much. Pylons are great for fast transport I know you know this but they also improve energy efficiency. The longer the tower chain the less energy you get from the ones further. But yeah also building and factory stuff gets better. Factories should be as central as possible not as far back as possible because they have to send the supplies. Don't forget ERN stuff as early as possible. Like the fire rate/range upgrade is amazing, especially if coupled with an actually ern'd weapon. Mortars fire further the higher they are. You can tell turrets to target mesh, which sometimes is what the ground stuff is but... the game needs a better visual system for that. That's basically it for quick tips, just keep having fun ultimately, you're a cool dude.

I would have also thrown in “use anti creep aggressively”. It’s a separate resource drain then most weapons, and can create an “oopsee” buffer with enough excess production.

Ooooh this was a really cool map! I feel like this one was more tactical and interesting than some of the others? I love how they start you off on the back foot with your super defense home fort base place, but the longer you take to get out, the more eggs there will be...... Also those patches that can produce a LOT of creeper are really cool. Stashes that accumulate a certain amount for giant waves, man, this game just seems so cool and satisfying. I love the variance of tools that the creeper has available to try and make things difficult for you. The little bugulons that sneak up on you, the flare/missile things that drop splooge wherever they land. There's probably even more that I don't really know about because I've not played the game myself, but soon as I have some disposable income I'm gonna snag this one for sure.

Just a pro-tip that I really struggled with, at the start of a level, make a single string of towers that goes in a non-interconnected line, that way your base will work on just one at a time and not waste precious seconds getting 3 or 4 of them going at a time, while you are getting no power from them.

FYI You can click and drag with the bomber targeting to make them bomb in a run instead of just circling an area, useful for when you want them to bomb everything in a larger area since they only drop bombs on creep either way and so shouldn't waste many bombs.

I've played the earlier Creeper Worlds and I recognise this type of map as one of those "minimalist race against time" maps that's meant to be all about strategy. Create the least amount of things to get to the vulnerable points faster, and head off the Creep before it overwhelms everything. But, no, this is Tom. Just brute forcing his way through it all.

I played this yesterday, before I saw this. That was a hard mission! I never cared about Creep much except to play the game, but now I actually hate it. Having not seen the video yet, I built a 15 high wall at the edge of the blue ground-shit, used TERPs to level the creepspawn to the terrain contours, then 12 anticreep, plus AC bombers to get that fucker under control. Took a while. Welp, let's see how Tom fares...

The timer is part of the score, so it speeds up if you increase the game speed. Looks like he played the vast majority of it on 2x speed, so it might be "just" two hours. Less if he did any 4x.
