I personally align with the Roundhead Independents, the New Model Army, and Oliver Cromwell, but this song is great and I love it. A minority of my English ancestors were Cavaliers from Devon who fought for King Charlie, so I can't help but feel at least a little bit of pride in the Royalist cause. Here's a health unto his majesty! ...okay, now back to being my usual Puritan self, lol!

@MonsieurWeevil I had been under the false impression that to be of the Reformed Protestant faith was to be aligned with the Roundheads first and the Covenanters second, ignorant to the Reformed Anglican faith of my Cavalier ancestors, who proved the vast majority of my paternal ancestry. Modern day Puritan types indoctrinated me with their own brand of postmillennial theonomy, just another form of Puritan agitation and trouble-making, but this past Christmas, I was blessed to shed the lies of the "religious liberty" of the Puritans in favor of the classical faith of my Cavalier ancestors, true followers of the Reformers. Long live good King Charlie!
