When the mainland Philippines was colonized by its various colonizers, it was the Moros that were not conquered by any western colonizers and even defeated them in battle. not that I agree with this guy's idealism, but I can see where he's coming from. colonial idealism did claim their lands as government property in 1946 when locals have been here long before then. the whole island of Mindanao was comprised of kingdoms and sultanates with their own history and monarchical government even before the Taglogs had their own "culture". so for these foreign people to claim their land as government property was a low blow and an in your face "how dare you" moment. until today they are still fighting that same fight. the only difference is, a lot of their peers gave in to colonial government hundreds of years ago and they are the ones who are left standing
