The plaintiff and his wife say they moved into his grandmother’s home after she passed away, as did the defendant, his aunt. They say she’s trying to force them to move, even calling the police 23 times and falsely accusing them of poisoning her, so they’re suing. The defendant says the plaintiffs put toilet water in her food, which put her in the hospital for weeks. She’s countersuing for defamation and emotional distress.

First, how do you know they living there for free? Her name may not be on the deed. My sister has the same first, middle and last name as her mom. When her mom died she claimed the house was solely hers because her name was on the deed. Her brother and sister took her to court and she had to sell the house. As for her paying bills she said she pays the mortgage but what about the utilities, taxes, insurance, food and upkeep of the property. Big girl doesn't look like she missing any meals and that SSI check and $23 a month food stamps can only get you but so far especially when diabetic meds cost a arm and a leg especially in California.

The defendant may be a handful but the house belongs to her. It's not clear why she hasn't gone through the proper channels to have the plaintiffs evicted if she has the deed and the mortgage. It seems like the plaintiff moved from Texas back to California because he thought his grandmother's house became family property after her death and that he and his wife could live there rent and mortgage free. The defendant should stop calling the police on the plaintiffs and call whoever handles legal evictions if she's got the papers to prove it's her house. She may not have a likeable personality, but I think she needs help getting squatters (the plaintiffs) out of her house.

Judge Mathis missed what's really going on. The Aunt wants those two out. For real property, please make sure it is formally in writing or make sure the person you want to inherit your home is on the deed. For instance, I have older siblings that moved to North Carolina with our father 1974 because they wanted to. They did not want to live with our mother in New York nor the house mom owned. When I turned 18 yrs. old, I went to work and helped my mother finish her mortgage a few years later. In 2018, my father dies in North Carolina. My siblings that grew up with him sent me paperwork(June2020) to sign off my interest of his numerous properties and land in North Carolina for free. I signed it because I never lived in North Carolina. Now, my mother dies and the Children that grew up in North Carolina contact me that they inherited an interest in mom's one house in New York and want to get paid some money to give up their interest. So make sure your paperwork is legally tight to prevent very bad people without souls from coming after you die seeking money and did nothing to deserve it.

The Auntie is either suffering from Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease or having some type of mental break down. If anybody, including her famiy really wanted to harm her, they would not make it so obvious. She's also very greedy and probably thinks she'll outlive all of her siblings and their heirs to get the house. Nevertheless, it's time for her to go. What they should do is contact Adult Protective Services and ask them to come out and evaluate her. If she refuses, the Police or the APS can take her away by force and put in the hospital on a Psych hold for up to 72 hours while she is evaluated especially if they deem that she is a harm to herself or others. I feel sorry for her but the FOOLISHNESS must stop!!! Let's continue to watch this episode and see what will be the final disposition thereof. Best wishes to all!!!

She did not give Mathis a Deed as she claimed she was on, she gave him proof with her name on it that she pays the mortgage, that does not make her the owner. She is trying to bully them out of their part of the home. Whatever would go to the Plaintiffs mother, would now go to him. She is not the owner, she showed no proof.

The aunt should have just had them evicted. It is apparent that once she got ownership of the home, she wanted them out. They appeared to be freeloading, & the family DID NOT side with them. I say that because if the “family” knows his aunt, then they would also know what she is capable of (just like anyones family with that type of person in it); however, the “family” chose to not associate with HIM (that speaks a lot). He has NO family there as witnesses to/of her character or this mess - which also speaks volumes. Judge just gave them relocation $. 🤣
