Fighting ritual infanticide in Northern Benin

Together with Franciscains-Benin, we combat the ritual infanticide of so-called ‘witch children’, who are believed to bring ill-fortunes to their families. Our joint work was recently cited by UNICEF as a best-practice of connecting grassroots activism and UN-level advocacy.
While we push for structural change using mechanisms such as the Universal Periodic Review in Geneva, Franciscans also work on the ground to sensitise and empower communities. Have a look at our November campaign in Northern Benin!
