For early beginning of levels, I highly recommend using potato mine while you focus more on sunflowers and getting defenses up, especially other insta-kill plants like cherry bomb, or sort of helpful plants like iceberg lettuce.

Here's a tip: when fighting zomboss, if he does his ram attack you can stun him with plant food. Another tip: usually a world has some "gimmick" to it. Like tiles you can't plant on, different zombies with special properties, etc.

Matt when you get to Pirate Seas I HIGHLY recommend you use SnapD Dragons, They Breath Fire in 3 lanes and their Plant Food Ability can get you out of trouble a lot. Also ANOTHER TIP: When you encounter a Gargantuar and Don't have plants like Iceburg Lettuce or an Insta Kill Plant, I recommend just putting random plants in front lf it. It doesn't matter what plant it is, It'll still distract the Gargantuar

Alright, tips based on my experience. I know you don't like lobbed plants, but I think Kernel Pult is amazing in this game Sun-Shroom and puff shroom are extremely cheap and don't need the coffee bean like in PvZ 1, making them super spamable. I think sun-shroom is the best sun plant Always do piñata party (the events) because they give seeds and costumes (once upon a time, not sure if it's still there, haven't gotten it in a while) and they give you pre-picked plants. That's it, hope it helps/you can see it.

@@levvsk The reason I say sunshroom is better is that, it's half the price of a regular sunflower and grows fairly quickly into sunflower range. I haven't had a lot of experience with Primal sunflower, I guess I am missing out, but it's 75 sun for what the sunshroom does after its been sitting for a while. Of course, I am willing to consider Primal Sunflower, because this is my experience based on how I beat the game.

Hey matt this series is amazing. Heres 3 tips that might be useful. Tip 1: If a zombie is eating a plant infront if it, place a plant behind the zombie (has to be a big plant) for some reason the zombies will start attacking the plant behind it. Tip 2: if you go to the log thing (forgot the name) you can play extra levels. These levels can give you big rewards like more coins, gems ect. Also do the piñatas, They give you HUGE amounts of coins Tip 3: you dont have to upgrade all plants, the more useful plants you should upgrade

Matt, heres a small but useful tip: You should use potato mine for the early zombies as a cheap defense while still focusing on your economy. Iceberg lettuce is also an alternative, it can't kill the zombie but it can stall the wave so that you get more sun.

Matt!!!! I don’t know if I’m the only one who does this but I recommend paying attention to what zombies you see in event stages. If there a zombie you haven’t encountered yet, I recommend exiting the stage so you don’t get spoiled. It keeps the surprise up when you ACTUALLY encounter them in their world. Like so he can see. Edit: also here is an actual fact. When zomboss is ramming into your plants, you can use plant food to stop him. Zomboss can’t ram into plants currently being powered by plant food, it will stun him if he tries to do so. But ONLY when the plant is CURRENTLY being affected, not afterwards

Hey Matt! Keep the series up! Once you progress through enough of the game, or once you complete it, you should try the ECLISE mod. It's a more balanced version of PvZ 2 with completely different mechanics. (Plus no micro-transactions so your wallet wont have to suffer).

Tip: When fighting Doctor Zomboss and he's about to run over 2 lanes of plants, you can give a plant plant food and it will stop Zomboss from running over the rest of the lanes. Recommendation: When you get to the Dark Ages era and you unlock the Sun Shroom, Use it instead of the Twin Sunflower because it got a huge buff from PVZ1. Instead of giving out 15 sun, then growing to give 25, it starts out by giving 25, then grows for 50, then grows AGAIN for 75. Keep using the Sun Shroom as your main sun producer until you unlock the Primal Sunflower in the Jurassic Marsh era. The Primal Sunflower gives out 75 sun from the start through out the whole game. A draw back of the Twin Sunflower is that you cant place it immediately like all other sun producers and has about 2x a slower recharge time. Recommendation: For the first premium plant you get, go for the Gold Bloom. It costs 0 sun, gives you 375 sun from the start of the game, and can be replanted about every 70 seconds. Btw, love your vids. Keep up the great work!

Hey Matt, here's a helpful tip: puff shroom is in this game, and is extremely useful for blocking off zombies early to gain more time to farm sun, especially considering leveling up puffshroom is way easier

Fun fact: Dr zomboss uses different machines that look different in other levels, and some of his machines look the same as the one you fought. If you use a super plant food on a plant while the machine is charging at the 2 rows, the plant would be immune to it, and not only that, but it will stun the machine so it doesn't keep going. So next time, Just save your plant just in case.

Here's a tip: If Zomboss uses that dash attack, use plant food on the plant that is most near him, as long as it is an attacking one, it will retard the attack (I think it's only attacking ones, I haven't tested with non-attacking ones)

All zombies in pirate seas: The swashbuckler zombie: swings, getting a headstart. The barrel zombie: can kill plants with its barrel, barrel also acts as a shield. When the barrel pops, it summons 1 imp on 2 neighboring lanes. The pirate zombie & the zombie parrot: the pirate zombie is not really that bad, the parrot can be a bit troublesome, it steals your plants and it has more hp than the average zombie. The imp cannon: shoots imps every few seconds. Zombot plankwalker: arguably the easiest zomboss fight.

A quick tip: Play the arena for some juicy rewards. It can get a little annoying and it costs gauntlets, but it will pay off with pretty cool plants if you can just discover the perfect strategy. Good luck with the series! Oh and also if you use plant food while zomboss does the dash, when he hits the plant he gets stopped.

Hey matt here's a fact for the last stand levels it does give you some free plant food also there's an arena mode where every month or week I forgot how many days it is also if u get enough wins u can unlock premium plants that u can't unlock in adventure also if any of your plants get to level 5 the projectiles from the plant changes and it looks different also u can't tell how much health a gargantuar has but 2 potatoes or any other emergencies plants like the peashooters in the travel log quest you did

Hey Matt, one good thing you can do about Survivals like the Pyrmind of Doom, while starting out with few plants (as long as you have decent plants that can kill Gargantuars) is to keep playing them (likely in your spare time) to accumulate Power Ups over time, since the Seed selection will have picked up every plant you have after a while. This'll help later on if you stack up the power ups for harder worlds (but it does take some time) It can also help with getting coins if you need those for plant upgrades

Hey matt i got a kinda useless tip for you. if you want to speed up the growing process of the plants in zen garden for free, first. Turn of your wifi or/and mobile data 2. Go to settings and move one day to your current day in your i pad. I hope it works! it might help for upcoming bossfights in the next 11 worlds!!

Tip 1. Atlest plant 5 twin sun flower Tip 2. When your in Pirate Seas I prefer use Snap Dragon atleast plant 1 in the top,middle and at the bottom. Tip 3. Try Plant Food on all the different plants. Some plants you may have dismissed might have really powerful Plant Food effects. Tip 4. Don't hoard your Plant Food - using one early on a Sunflower will let you get your defenses up Hope it helps:)

Tip: Try and complete piñata parties or do quests from the log, they give you free rewards to help level up your plants. You should also go into the shop and buy some seed packets that cost coins, that's one of the easiest ways to level up your plants.

In pvz2 mushrooms don't sleep in the day also sun shroom is WAYYYY better in this game and its plant food can basically make you rich also puff shroom dies over time but you can heal it with plant food also plant food effects ALL PUFF SHROOMS and kernal pults butter is way more often and its really funny when a bloon or pirate zombie just fall into the water
