It's DOOM time!!!
Rip and tear through your collection with the figma Doom Slayer, with the design seen in the videogame Doom Eternal by Bethesda. (now owned by Microsoft.) This is a different one, cause Goodsmile's figma line-up mostly consists of anime style figures. To release a character from a bloody and violent videogame is definetly not the norm. Plus he's big and bulky so there's a lot to look forward to.

Thanks to this kick-ass review, I'm more hyped than ever for my Doom Slayer to arrive, which is very soon. Great work! On a side note, I do wish Good Smile did the joints differently, specifically the elbows and knees. But hey, if it lets me create awesome poses, it's worth it.

Joints are ugly as fuckkkk. But I can forgive it because good DOOM figures are so scarce. Can’t wait to get mine. Btw, I’ve heard of a lot of people’s shoulder cannons breaking out of the packaging, so be careful with that.

While the shoulders are a bit of a mess, I still like the fact that figma tried to make it work. Even tho I wish they would've taken notes from figuarts. Either way, it doesn't really bother me that much personally.

The prototype looked a lot better, I wonder why GSC didn't leave the joints as they showed them in the preview. I won't be sure about those shoulders until I have this figure in my hands

One of the grip hands for the left hand uses the model for the right hand but mirrored. You can see it at 13:58 (top row 3rd from the left) and 14:08. I noticed it on my copy so I wondered if anyone else had it too. Then I checked the website and found that it's actually present in one of the promo photos, meaning most likely every copy has it. Seems like there was a modeling error during the mold-making process and Max Factory didn't notice until it was too late. Weird huh?

Thanks, glad you like it. I'd love some more Doom, but Goodsmile is notorious for just releasing one figure and leaving it at that without ever delivering a line. Hope this big guy sells well and they decide to continue. I'd definetly be down for more Doom.

I am so torn on this, so much good and so much questionable/bad. The paint detail is fantastic, the accessories all look great (no punching hands????) and he looks like he can pose very well, but the proportions are off, the gaps in some of the joints (and some of the joints in general) are inexcusably ugly, and some of the engineering choices make zero sense to me. Think I should drop the 94 CAD to grab him?

Figma has to start improving their joints. Their barely has been any evolution in their figures in general. I typcially don't mind the figma joints, but they look horrible on this figure, amd they definitely could have engineered the figure a lot without looking so broken up, especially since it is an expensive figure. Honestly looks like their getting lazy with their newer figures, so cutting corners due to inflation. I am kind of turned away from the figure now, but I already paid my pre-order in full awhile ago since Hobby Genki informed me it would be releasing soon, but then it got delayed after I had paid. I am stuck with the figure now. I am hoping I like it better in person. It is the only well-articulated doom slayer available, so I will have to conform. McFarlane's figure was an definitive "no," ws the articulation was attrocious, but I don't associate McFarlane with good articulation, especially at the $20 price point. Just a suggestion for the reviews, you should plan out what you are going to say before doing the video. I don't watch full video reviews anyways, but the few minutes I watched skipping around video were made me want to mute the video because, as your speech just seemed disorganized and therefore distracting. It is better to get to point than jumbling around words or including dialogue that isn't really necessary. I am not a regular viewer of this channel, just clicked on the video as none of my prefered reviewers have a video on this figure, so my criticism doesn't really matter, but just provided it as area of improvement to help maintain people's attention.

I just got the figure but just after a few hours of posing and taking pictures, the knee ball joint and knee cover snapped and broke, now I super glued it back together, disappointing, and the right arm keeps coming lose, the stand middle piece is lose, the right foot cover keeps coming lose, this figure looks nice and is good but there’s just so many problems should’ve gone with McFarlane

@@therealPayne The visor's paint job looks plasticky and pretty underwhelming, they could've easily made that a nice translucent plastic with some shading to make it look nice. There's no dry brushing to make his armor pop, skin tone is way too damn dark and looks nothing like the prototype, and the shading on the upper arm looks messy as hell. Even Mcfarlane's $20 dollar figure got his skin tone right... This is unjustifiable and just plain lazy. I guess Figma is only good at getting their anime characters right.
