One of the best fashion figure drawing vids I've seen. I've been struggling with how to reconcile 9-10 head high fashion croquis with actual anatomy. You make it very clear how to do that. Thanks!

you can scan your small sketch, blow it up using software and print it to draw it. With digital art which is what I do I also tend to draw small thumbnail sized sketchy sketches and blow them up and refine them as I go

I like this method of using light pastels and charcoal for the gesture I think I'll use this, it makes the whole sketch look a little more clean maybe I'll use light colored pencils and a brush pen for my next practice session, and if Zoe See's this thanks for the tip this'll help up many others' drawing game.

Hi, I like this video on this topic but I miss two REALLY important things (for drawing students and amatours) BEFORE angle and proportions. 1. Gesture 2. Enveloping I have learned, that if I do not draw gesture, I miss the dynamic of the figure. I have learned that I need enveloping to simple main shapes and not to make huge mistakes in sizes. However I find it very difficult to develop a drawing in this order: GESTURE -» ENVELOPING -» PROPORTIONS and I cannot see these steps in your video neither. What do you think?

I'm a complete noob when it comes to drawing, not even capable of drawing an Apple but ... As i'm trying to learn where to start i found a lot a tone of video ondine and this is the FIRST time i saw someone drawing in a so analytic way !!! Your cognitive slide is AT LEAST impressive !!! I'm totally aware of Andrew Loomis, Steve Hudson, Michael Mattesi and Michael Hampton but now that i see how easy and organize you are i would like to ask you if you can only give me one book to learning figure drawing from which one would it be ? Even if i'm still have to teach my brain to do not interfere with my eye so i can " see " and draw what i see, i still would like to when pasted that obviously keep going on a good starting point. Thanks for your answer ( french forgive my english ) amazing video.

Love your video, thank you so much for taking the time to supply free easy explained lessons! Just wondering some things, my proportions are never right no matter which size the gestures and I ALWAYS want to do details right away, so is it better to go big to small gesture drawings or vice versa for proportion help? And besides timed drawings is there any other advice to stop getting lost in details?? Thanks again and in advance if you get the chance to reply!
@zoehongteaches6 жыл бұрын
You probably want to practice larger to work on proportions. Practice drawing large, yes, timed drawings can help, try limiting yourself to thick media like fat markers, chalk pastel, fat charcoal sticks, don't sharpen your media, force yourself to not lean into your drawings up close to get all into the details. Good luck!
