Unipin makes fineliners that are very light gray - fine enough to add some detail, but because of the light color, it doesn’t have the comic-book appearance of black fineliners. Try them.

oo that's interesting, I'm curious to try! thank you! :)

derwent also has some graphik line maker pens in a really light grey that are also waterproof. dunno if theyd be alcohol marker proof, but they’re great imo!

The markers on the portrait are very pleasing to my sight. I believe that the lines is the special ingredient that makes this piece so special. (I love when you can see the lines, it reminds me of sketching process) ❤

oh my god juust in time!! i've just purchased my first marker set and have been trying to convince myself i did not wasted my money for something unnececary as a student who barely can set aside money for art and hobbies :"@ watching you made me feel happier and also motivated as always!!! thank you for the video chris

Oh it’s hard for me to pick between chisel and brush. I like both. But I think I have to go chisel. I love the chisel tips from Ohuhu’s Kaala line.

oo haven't tried those, didn't realize there were different kinds of chisel tips!

I liked all your portraits. I didn’t see anything wrong with second one. I have tried markers when I was in school. I have to work on it again.

The 'Letraset Tria Markers' have a brush, chisel and a fineliner tip that connects ontop of the chisel, they seem to be pretty expensive, I believe they are used in interior design a lot Ive not tried them myself but heard both good and bad things, they seem to be exactly what you were describing tho :)

I know that you were pretty hard on yourself with the second drawing but as I was watching, I decided that that was my favourite out of the drawings in this video! ✨ I don't know what it was about that drawing that I loved the most - maybe that I felt it looked most like the reference photo or maybe I just preferred the colours you used. Either way, that one was definitely my favourite & it goes to show that art really is subjective!! 💐❤️

I’m definitely a brush tip girlie, the chisel tip makes my art look so messy and unfinished. You might want to think about buying the Tranesca Apple Pencil grips ( the big tangerine blob). While you do have to take it off every time you want to charge, it does help keep you from straining your hand, plus it makes it easier to find. Have you seen Ohuhu’s newest alcohol marker sketchbook? It’s supposed to be bleed proof so it might help you maintain your edges when you layer colors.

I actually loooove the colours on your 2nd portrait! I wanna try this colour combo too now!

I’m team clear blending marker! I love starting light and then working dark saturating my layers with the blender as I go back and forth to blend everything together. I finish off with colored pencils to bring out those little details. I love seeing you use more markers! You make such beautiful work, don’t be worried if things don’t turn out as planned. Paper type definitely makes a difference with alcohol markers. Just keep experimenting and keep it funky fun! As long as you’re having a good time that’s all that matters ❤

As always thanks for another great video!! I can always relate to these "unspoken, illogical rules' of sticking to a color palette when it's clearly not working out 😅 my brain is just like NOPE. I also use a combo of brush+chisel tip, but if I had to choose one for the rest of my life, I would probably choose the chisel tip because it's more versatile, but though choice! My favorite portrait was the second one! You really managed to change it's original course. Congratulations on launching your new book. I wanted to get the discovery bundle but my country wasn't on the list 🥺 maybe someday 🤍🩷
