Due to this not having a spring loaded clip and being on the larger side , what else would you recommend for using in the gym ? I just ordered a set of Fatfreq HBB iems and I need to upgrade my bleetooth amp as well . Would tu e BTR 15 be a good enough option for power and bass or are there any other better options ? I don’t know if FiiO will make a clip case for this . Thanks

don't btr17 have the exact same power as ka17 and can't btr17 also be used wired ?

Yes, only benefit is the Bluetooth and onboard battery

The comparisons here are unclear: Are you comparing KA17 to BTR17 in Bluetooth, or in wired, or in wired desktop mode? The BTR17 has three modes, each with a different grade of sound quality. It isn't clear how significant you found the gap in sound quality between modes, nor which mode you compared the KA17 with. Thanks for the review.

KA17 does not do Bluetooth, so it could only be wired or wired desktop mode. The other thing is that the KA17 only has volume control, no play pause buttons.

More powerful (desktop mode), aptX-Lossless, newer BT chip, newer THX amps. The sound (to me) is the same, I compared side by side with my Dunu Glacier, Monarch mk3 and others, I can't really hear any difference compared to the BTR7.

@HazadSydee I didn't expect to hear any difference and that's a good thing because the BTR7 has great sound. Btw, most of the characteristics reviewers list are either pure BS or very personal impressions due to ear anatomy. Also, stuff like recessed mids on an amp is not a thing.

Bluetooth is not lossless despite whatever they name the codec

He's not saying that Bluetooth is lossless, he's referring to a new bluetooth codec called "AptX Lossless" which this device is able to use. It's honestly the biggest leap in Bluetooth technology since LDAC. It's called "lossless" because it's bitrate is 1200kbs, which is effectively indistinguishable from the bitrate of CDs (1411kbs). So the name codec name is misleading, but not significantly since the vast majority of streamed music sources aren't even cd quality anyway.

Hi I'll answer you I have the btr17 and the Qudelix-5k +fh9 if you don't need power the btr17 is useless! As for sound quality it is almost the same as the Qudelix-5k, but the Qudelix-5k beats it in the software side!

I wish there was a device that I could connect to my mobile phone via cable and the DAC would connect to my headphones via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, this BTR17 is also only a Bluetooth receiver and not a transmitter. (Background: Samsung Galaxy can only use aptX, no aptX HD, lossless or adaptive. My headphones can only do aptX Adaptive). So, still waiting...

Why would u wanna do that? Any bluetooth connection is always lossy. What u aim for does not improve your sound. It is better to connect directly to ur phone.
