@j-bola10 күн бұрын
I've just recently gotten into the hobby, which is kind of frustrating because there is so much interesting gear that I want to buy, but because of budget, can't check out. For those on a budget or are hesitant to commit hundreds of $/€/£, I think the FIIO FT1 is great value and easily recommendable. I'm very tempted to get the Pros as I've heard they are also excellent and outperform (for the money) the Sundaras or Edition XS. Would love to see your thoughts on the open back. By the way, since getting into watching audio gear reviews over the last few months, I've found it strange that the sound production on a lot of reviewers' videos is, let's say, a bit lacking. Considering the subject matter, you'd think more care would be taken. But not so with yours. All of your videos sound fantastic and sport very well-produced (dare I say sexy) B-Roll. The reviews themselves are always very informative and engaging. You're definitely one of my favourite resources for exploring the hobby. Well done!

Hiya and yet again a spot on review 👌 👍 I have a lot of Portable Dac's, but with the FiiO FT1, I always find myself using the ONIX XI1 as they work so well together, more so than the fiio Q15. Saying that the fiio Q15 is always in my home cinema set up with the HiBy R6 III as a music streamer, works so well too.

a lot of people have been reporting thats its a fake wood cup and its actually plastic, theyve been showing what happens when you scratch it and the outer layer is just paint that comes off a white plastic cup. any experience with this on yours?
@Gizaudio10 күн бұрын
First thanks for taking the time to watch the review! That's definitely interesting. This is the first I've heard about this. From everything I can tell about my set, it's real wood. Although I don't know how I could determine that without damaging the cup or taking it apart. I will say that would not be consistent with Fiio's marketing integrity record. In my experience Fiio has been one of more forthright and honest manufacturers. Besides, it just doesn't make sense to me that they would take that risk. Again, thanks for checking out the review!

I have been thinking of getting some good headphones like this I had ny eye on the Meze noir/neo and the beyerdinamic 770 pro x and now considering this one as well. What are yall recomendations ?? i have found all of them around the same price.
@Tssukiii5 күн бұрын
If you don’t have hearing loss I would highly recommend avoiding the Beyerdynamic (unless you use EQ) Meze is way too muddy, but if you’re into fun consumer sound f.e. Sony Bluetooth Over Ears this might be a great upgrade All in all I’d say the Fiio one would be the best choice around that budget

@Tssukiii Thanks for the help Ill get the meze noir to get a fun pair and to be able to use them for the noise isolation in the future I'll get a true "good" headphone. are the beyerdinamic that sharp ?
@Tssukiii4 күн бұрын
@@brunorodriguez9843 great, hope you enjoy them! Yes, BD are that sharp if you don’t have any hearing loss or use EQ. For open Planars I would suggest you to skip the Edition XS and save up for an Arya Stealth or an used Arya V2. Stealth can be had for 500-600$ and is an incredible deal. V2 used can be had for around 400$ which I personally like even better. Comfort, build and sound should be superior to the Edition XS and they are not that much more expensive. For V2 you would need a powerful amp though, Stealth would work fine with entry level stuff I suppose.

What is the main difference between the FT1 and the JT1?
@TheWorldTeacher11 күн бұрын
JT1 is all mud.
@saucyg637111 күн бұрын
JT1 has a funky tuning in the midbass and low mids that consists of peaks and dips. Basically it’s not necessarily a smooth and cohesive tuning, although in past 1khz they’re actually not that different tuning wise, but FT1 extends more in the treble and is just an overall more capable driver with better build and form factor as well.
@audie-cashstack-uk488110 күн бұрын
Jt1 is very funky coloured but detailed sound ft1 is far more refined , jt1 is great for dance pop base heavy and making bad games sound good the ft1 is superior
@timschutte3961Күн бұрын
I have both and was more impressed with the JT1 then the FT1 but it is still new so will get better and it is not muddy and sounds really good for the price and almost competes with my 250$ Audio Technica WS1100. And the JT1 is semi open and FT1 closed back. And with the Fiio K7 both sound really good.

Olina se. The issue with fun is sometimes you have too much treble when you up the volume to get that midbass and you get ear graped by treble. The monarch mk3 does this but the midbass is so good
@JohnClarkW11 күн бұрын
@@vera_bh8091 I love Olina SE, but today my pick would be the Sivga Que. It is $25 cheaper, and has lush bass with the beryllium DD. They graph almost the same, and the accessories on the Que are nicer too.

Under $100? I would go with the Fiio JT1 or the Phillips SHP9500 or SHP9600. Those are all around the 60-70 dollar range. You will get more low-end on the Fiio JT1, which IMHO sounds better for metal. Cheers.

I just don't know why I would ever want these. The HE400SE are cheaper and sound better, and if I need isolation the Moondrop Aria II are half the cost and don't really sacrifice anything. I just don't understand what market this is trying to target beyond just being a vanity item that manages to sound somewhat competent. There isn't a reason to buy closed headphones at this price when they're easily outclassed by IEMs until you get into stuff like ZMF as you approach the $1000 mark. Tonality isn't very good. Too much bass, dull upper-mids/lower-treble. Midrange can lack body and be a bit shouty at times. And then there's this really obvious and narrow-band spike in the treble that constantly stands out. I've been with my Focal Clear too long to be satisfied with something like this for anything more than like $80-100.
@j-bola10 күн бұрын
I get your point, but comparing these to an open-back planar or an IEM isn't exactly fair. A lot of people, like myself, have situations at home or at work where others are not particularly happy with the sound leakage of an open-back. And while I have no problems with wearing IEMs, many people (in my case, both my wife and son refuse to use them) hate having something in their ears. Nice that you can afford Focal Clears, but a buttload of people (again, like myself) who want to get into the hobby, cannot. The FT1s do their job very well at their price point and easily outperform similarly priced closed-backs. But I agree, for $150 or so, I'd recommend one of the many outstanding IEMs that are out there before these. Just take into consideration first that for some, that's not an option
