Narayan was a good and fair moderator! I think history will judge Bainimarama very well. To become economically stable, Fiji must modernise and become free of discrimination and preferential race policies, which inevitably breed prejudice, resentment, violence and instability, which also harms the economy and drives away investment. Sodelpa policies are from the stone age! They think that more corporal punishment will reduce violence against children and women?! Insane!! Coup culture is a reflection of wider cultural violence which normalises rule through brute force!! Essential services should be in public hands! Privatisation just takes wealth away from ordinary people and enriches foreign corporations! The most contentious point missed on the native land issue is the fact that laws governing native land can be changed by a simple majority of parliament under the 2013 constitution.
