Thank you for testing properly. i see a lot of reviewers don't read the manual, just use improperly, and complain about the product.

It's like a fusion splicer for fiber optic cables....but for filament, very cool!!👍

This tool will be a must among 3d printing enthusiasts. I don't doubt some 3d printers will include a modified version of it in the future. Thanks Bryan!

Got my order in early. Just received an email from them and any new orders will be shipped in early Oct. This seams to be a popular piece of equipment. Can't wait to receive mine.

I'll wait when the new version don't need the sleeve .. you know someone will make one ..lol BEEERS!! 🍻
@EcoHamletsUK4 ай бұрын
One of the other reviewers (forgotten who) reused a sleeve a number of times. It looks like it just slides off. For joining lots of short lengths this should be fine, and will make the 200 supplied last a lot longer, but of course it's not practical when joining long lengths. For the amount of joining I'll be doing, I think the supplied sleeves should last longer than the tool!

Excellent. Proper ratio of pun to content! You can cut the 2 pieces of filament together to guarantee that the angles will match.
@BV3D4 ай бұрын
Hm. Good point on cutting both at the same time. I think for those of us used to cutting 45s on filament, we're pretty consistent on the cut. If you're new at it, then like you say, keeping the two filaments parallel while cutting an angle across both at the same time would ensure a match. Thanks!

The only use of that device to me would be on a 3D Pen. With AMS and MMU these days you don't end up with alm ost empty spool if you plan wisely.

You really should look into the Slunaz FF1R instead of this ‘toy’. The FF1R doesn’t require you to waste a section of PTFE tube for each joint, it runs to higher temps so you can join high-temp materials like ABS or PET (I didn’t say PETG), and it has it own spooler to boot. It puts this small unit to shame.
@EcoHamletsUK4 ай бұрын
It's rather more expensive! For the amount of filament I'll need to join, the Sunlu is a bit pricy, but I've ordered one. I couldn't justify paying any more for it.
@KevinGroninga3D4 ай бұрын
@@EcoHamletsUK I make a lot of PET filament from recycled plastic bottles, and as such the Slunaz FF1R has been an invaluable tool in my arsenal of small machines to make my job SO much easier! And the fact that I don’t have to place a small bit of PTFE, cut it off and throw it away is also another big factor. And on top of that, the Slunaz FF1R has its own spooler. But yeah, if you’re just a hobbyist and only need to join a few scraps together from time to time, I could see where the FF1R is cost prohibitive.
