What are you talking about? He’s arguing that these organizations shouldn’t have rules and have mandates and allow superstars to do whatever they want. That’s the problem with the WBC. The IBF is the only organization that has rules and that are keeping those rules and they do not bend them for any superstar, which, real boxing fans should be supporting but a lot of you fanboys will love these organizations to bend the rules for your superstar or food. Whatever you guys like at the moment, forget the rules all those other boxes that are paying sanction and fees to become mandatory they can wait for whenever the superstar that we love Decides to fight them you fake boxing fans are hilarious

@usmanmahmood8682 He fought Danny Garcia 6 months later. It's so horrific that he fought 4 more times. And I was talking about the IBF favoring Aj immediately after Fury. They stripped Fury 10 days after knowing he was contractually obligated to rematch Klitchsko. They didn't want to have him holding their belt for whatever reason. They're doing the same thing again, knowing that Fury/Usyk has a rematch clause. It's not about being a fan of any of these guys. It's about doing what's right. That's what Rummy is talking about it. Did you even listen to his video? He already made this point? Aj and Spence Jr fans keep those horseblinders on. They stay calling everyone a duck but justify their fighters doing the same thing.

Hi Rummy, just small note on the Charlo situation. He was given a sept. 30 deadline to face his mandatory Tszyu back in May. Also the WBO does not allow for simultaneous 2 division champs. So in that situation, I don't see anything wrong with what the WBO did. Charlo chose to neglect the WBO order for Canelo money. He chose to fight Canelo on the specific deadline the WBO gave him. Personally I think the WBO was gracious enough not stripping him for the sake of marketing.

I remember when Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson threw vacated both of their belts in order to fight each other to determine the #1 guy at 175. It was well applauded at the time. It's gonna take a big fight like Usyk-Fury doing something like that to truly get their attention. The sad part is, Hergovic-AJ is an intriguing a matchup that I wouldn't mind seeing, just not under these circumstances. I'd also like to see Wilder-Zhang but I know that won't happen.

IBF is the only promotion doing what should be done…they’ve had a #1 contender for a long while now and he’s defended his spot. Good on IBF. Do you want them to all be WBC and let Fury choose bums for years and never fight a top 3 contender? Hrgovic and AJ will both want to be undisputed, so if Usyk wins we’ll get another great Undisputed fight…If Fury wins then all the belts will be kept from real challengers and he won’t give AJ or Hrgovic a shot.

Its also the fault of boxing fans, particulalry British fight fans. They will fill arenas to see second class fighters fight. The best heavyweights can fight lower class fighters and still make big money without taking big risks while fighting only infrequently. I feel your frustration in this one, Rummy. I've said for a long time now that we don't know who the top fighters in this division are because they never fight each other for us to find out. It's like there's two separate divisions. Just looking at the Ring Top 10 for heavies, and no one in the list has fought more than 2 of the others. In fact, Sanchez and Anderson haven't fought ANY, though I don't blame them for that. We saw Fury and his "Sanchez = no $$$" remarks the other month.

Joshua proving to be a real man that has gained my respect, everyone else is talking shit and not boxing and Joshua after losing all of his titles and twice in a row to Usyk is just keeping on boxing and not running his mouth. If he gets his belts back in my opinion he needs to start being in discussions of character similar to Ali who also lost it all and won it back. Love your content but for once I totally disagree with you Rummy. We don't need a 2 way rematch clause, we need 1 undisputed fights. It's rematch clauses that keep holding the division up and Fury has held up his end for so long anyway not defending his WBC belt either against a proper competitor since Whyte. It makes sense to strip the winner of the IBF or any of the belts if they aren't going to defend it. Also I don't agree with this narrative everywhere that this is without doubt the two best HWs. We don't know that cause none of the top guys fight each other. What if Wilder beat Usyk then Fury and Wilder would be the best 2. Or what if AJ beat Fury then AJ and Usyk are the best 2. I think these outcomes are definitely possible so, no I don't necessarily think that it's a fact that Fury and Usyk are the best 2. They probably are, but without all the top guys fighting each other, we will never know.

Absolutely, all sanctioning bodies need to have a box odd number 1s face each other than a final eliminator for the title shot, Number 2 and 3 4 and 5 could do the same down the rankings, if you win you progress, loose close or split drop a place, beaten easy drop 3, stopped drop 5 KO drop 7, DQ dropped 10. box your way and win back up the rankings. How many times have we seen people move u-p 5 places with out a fight

100% correct. Been saying it for decades. We’ve slowly gone from 4 fights a year for 1 belt to 1 fight a year for 4 belts. I have long advocated for an undisputed champion, to toss all belts in the trashcan, and say that he will not fight anyone who fights for a vacant version of them. The problem is, every fighter tries to leave the division, or even retire, after they become undisputed. No one is interested in defending belts anymore. They collect them like trophies.

The WBA stripped Lewis in a flagrant favor to Donkey King, who was able to use that belt to stage the succession of lousy fights centered on John Ruiz. But the way I wrote about it afterward was that Lewis had not lost his undisputed status either in the ring or by refusing to meet a reasonable challenge. So I continued to label him "the world champion" and call everyone else a "Titleist." Likewise, Wlad Klitchschko was also THE world champion, despite never having earned undisputed status, because of his run of years where he had fought everybody.

Let's see. IBF is so impatient they can't possibly wait for a rematch between Fury-Usyk, they want a mandatory title fight as soon as possible. On the other hand WBC doesn't really care about a mandatory title fight and they don't bother forcing Fury fight a mandatory challenger, they let him keep the title indefinitely

I don't know about that. The WBC had a mandatory defense much more recently than the IBF (and also much more recently than the WBA prior to Usyk-Dubois).

@@RummysCorner Hmm I'm not sure about that either. Canelo has not defended against a WBC mandatory in 2 years I believe, and the wait is still counting with no confirmation of the WBC ordering any mandatory defense or stripping him. Then Fury spent an entire year of not defending the belt (in 2021) by rematching Wilder, then again not defending against a mandatory this year. So I think the WBC, along with other organizations pretty much, accommodate popular boxers. They make money off of them after all. This is where I disagree with you. Sure the fact that the Holyfield got to fight for the belt that he just lost against Lewis diminish the value of that belt. But note that it was not the "stripping of the title" that was the issue, but rather the WBA letting Holyfield to fight for it immediately right after, just like if the IBF would let AJ fight for the vacant belt. It was their rankings that messed up. I guess this is a way the organizations accommodate popular boxers. I do think, however, stripping boxers of their titles are necessary to keep the sport moving. The belt organizations, theoretically, can't wait for rematches, because there can be an infinite number of rematches if the money was there. So putting pressure on champions would let them know that the belts they hold carry responsibilities, and that other challengers can overcome them, despite how much of an underdog they may be coming into fight night.

@@RummysCorner The issue is that it's been 18 months since Fury-Whyte mandatory fight (Fury-Chisora wasn't a mandatory) and the WBC hasn't even decided yet on who's the next mandatory challenger. WBA had Dubois as the mandatory challenger. IBF has Hrgovic and WBO has Zhang?? WBC doesn't even have a mandatory challenger yet.

The IBF, whatever happened there.

I disagree. I think the problem is not the IBF, but the assumption of an automatic right to have a rematch. In the "good old days" the loser of a championship bout would have to work his way back into contention before getting another title shot, and imo, that's how it should be. There *should* be a consequence for losing.

As much as i usually hate conglomeration, boxing really needs its own equivalent to UFC. Because every fighter is under one roster there are so many more "best v best" fights that get made compared to boxing

Knowing Tyson Fury, I'm willing to bet if he managed to get all the belts, he would promptly throw them away and display a brand-new custom-made belt stating that he's the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of All Boxing and that he won't defend any other titles but the one he made. While this could be seen as ridiculous as the BMF title in the UFC, it would be legitimate if Tyson had all the belts. And if he refused any other title defenses, they could strip him of the title but Tyson Fury would still be the lineal champion and it would give his title value. To a degree, more legitimacy. Because now they have to scramble to fill vacant championships. While I'm certain it would almost certainly result in lawsuits galore and probably damage the sport of boxing, it would still be hilarious to see the alphabet organizations completely belittled by their universal champion.

Shady? I always thought the IBF act with integrity and actually stick to their rules...I think it's a good thing, don't need a rematch.

AJ and Wilder needs to happen first. Winner of that could get the IBF belt. I think whomever wins between them deserves the shot. but its so bad that the IBF is trying to pretty much keep the divisions best from fighting each other. well. the other bodies probably will split soon anyways too for whatever reason.
