I’m not sure if I heard correctly is she originally from Himamaylan. I read a fascinating book about that town from the 1980’s between the NPA and the army. My fiancé’s brother employs his sister-in-law to be a nanny-housekeeper for 5k a month. 5k seems the normal salary in the province. She works 5 days a week for about 10 hours.

Get as much schooling done as early as possible, if a degree is your objective. I always worked 3 jobs, minimum, and carried a full school load at the same time because I was married and had 3 to 4 kids at the time, and I was their primary support. Just saying, it CAN be done! I now have a MBA and little sympathy for folks that expect things, including grades, to be handed to them. My little brother got kicked out of high school and eventually got a GED, which is equivalent to a high school diploma. He had two pages of patents before he was 30, and I don't know if he ever got a degree! Your success will be based on your own motivation and vision, but may be easier to achieve in a western country. BTW, my wife is 25 years younger than me, and asks me to retire at least once a week.
