We know, you're right Marcus, but in fairness to Fatima, she said, her family know she's not rich. We know you're kidding Fatima but it is very true about the families perception of foreign guys. Been there done that. In my experience over there, it's very easy to become unpopular with the family and the neighbours if you don't give handouts, and thats what happened with me and my wife where we purchased our house in Northern Cebu. We learned alot about the locals in our first year there. Now, we keep to ourselves, it's the best way.

Great advice on the family money front. Having an Indonesian partner and in the past Thai partners it resonates! I listen to the tale of woe as it begins and know that the conclusion of the tale will involve dollars. My dollars! You have to say no as like you have said before, if you say yes every time, you'd be down and out. I've had the motorbike, sickness, buffalo, rubber plant, police problems etc etc. But they can sort it out themselves for the most part. Obviously there are times that chipping in is appropriate but don't be a mug.Went to see my Thai partners parents in Nong Khai years ago. Had to go to the market beforehand and literally bought and paid for the whole village - party went on for days at my expense. Tractors and all sorts turning up all brothers and sisters! In 2020 Vietnam, my Indonesian partner wanted to go to the market and ended up buying enough for a small boutique - going back to Indonesia and were gifts just as you described. Have a lovely time in the village Fatima - teasemaster Markitos has done it again!

I really like your way of treating women specially Fatima! You are one of those expats that really understands Filipinas. I think you did good on providing even cooking for Fatima and kids. As far as giving money to Fatima as long as she is far away from family I think it’s fair to share more from your riches to her as she deserves a little more. Not necessarily giving cash go with her by shopping get what she wants just guard those cash if you give her that way. You are still lucky you don’t have the gold digger that’s why you are livin life in Philipines. The more you provide more for her and love her she will always stay happy with you! To me Fatima wants to go visit the province but having the kid with her and some money she is excited and will be happy going home. That’s the total reason!!!

Ohhhh!! I've got it. You take the family to the nearest city that has hotel ect. Book it for one week. Fatima can catch a motorbike ride back and forth to the village. You go out for shorter visits during the day and haul some chickens and beer out there and feed everyone dinner while videoing her family (especially the hot ass cousins). Great videos.....you make your fans happy, you make Fatima happy. She gets to show off her kids and rich husband. It's a win win situation. Just pick a time when the weather is cooler. Granted is a family culture, but you need to let the wife when is enough is enough. When we first got married request for money came from everybody and their mother’s cousins. To my wife credit she never came to me about any of those issues. When she started working she took care of her immediate family, eventually she made more money than me. But there’s still big emergencies, especially medical. I'm a pharmaceutical sales rep and I have a number of Filipino doctors I call on. The doctors have Filipino staff, mostly immigrants from the Philippines. One thing I can say about the Filipinos is they know how to work. They work their butts off. From what I see in the many expat videos I watch is no one works. The expats don't work, that's why they are living there. The Filipinas they attract don't work, and the families of the Filipinas don't work. You got an entire community of like minded loafers who don't want to work. As an American who has worked since he was 12 I find this "work shy" attitude very strange.
