I follow other Russian KZbinrs and one thing I noticed Russians are very family oriented. You guys don't mind living with your parents or elderly relatives same with Filipinos. That is one cultural thing Filipinos and Russians have in common. Thank you in enjoying what the Philippines has to offer.

Mangoes are seasonal. During summer,mangoes are sweet,plentiful and cheap. If you're coming back in October, it will not be the same as when you're here this month.

Actually mangoes bear fruit all year round now because of flower controlling but is cheapest at the time of natural harvet season because those trees that are naturally going through the cycle is at its peak production. But the fruit taste the same but like you said is expensive.

The coconut “candy” is normally eaten after heavy meal to remove the aftertaste of food. One way to make the sardines tastier and to remove the fishiness is to sauté it with garlic, onion and tomatoes. For the graham cake or mango float, best to use is an All-purpose cream. Chill it for at least 2-3hrs then whip it using a mixer. Then fold it with condensed milk. Add it in every layer for your mango float. Then chill the finish product overnight so the cracker absorb the cream and moist. Don’t put it in freezer.

Yes, I’m surprised that Russia is not strict in bringing fresh fruits from other countries. When they were packing them I thought Andrei & Mama Olga won’t be able to bring them into Russia. USA doesn’t allow bringing in fresh fruits because they might carry fruit flies which may carry diseases & contaminate the fruits endemic in the USA.
@abgeebssr73447 ай бұрын
@@Patrysha1007 That’s the official line. But, it’s not so much for health reasons (we have all the medications here) but more political and economic reasons. Local producers, Mexico, Caribbean countries, South American countries that produce similar agricultural products have pressured American politicians to prohibit the importation of those products from the Philippines. Those countries are more than willing to spend more money on politicians here than the filipinos.

God bless you all, Mama Olga, Andrei, Sister Liza, Sergei and your 4 sons. Just love to watch my favorite extended family (and friends) on KZbin. It's such a thrill to see you open and taste the "pasalubong" brought over from the Philippines! It's a unique experience for Filipinos to witness a wonderful Russian family wowing at and liking these gifts from the islands! Vanya is simply adorable!! He's very much like his mama - a poet, artistic in his ideas! (Tip: The 555 canned sardines are even better when heated a bit on the stove with some sliced onions and eaten with steaming hot rice!!) Your family got a small taste of the real Philippines!! Amazing! And I can say without exaggeration that Philippine mangoes are the best, most fragrant and delicious in the whole world without exception! I just cannot wait till you ALL go over to the Philippines together FOR REAL!! The boys will have fun seeing the little "butiki"s and geckos on the walls (and sometimes you may even find their tiny eggs left in holes and pockets in the doors and walls!) Hope to help you all realize that wonderful dream!
