I'm not gonna lie, those baked goods looked good! Most of them are usually eaten in the mid afternoon, we call it MIRIENDA, and yes they are accompanied by a hot or cold beverage. The Siopao is also great when accompanied with a soup based Chicken Noodle soup called MAMI, you dunk the siopao into the broth, take a bite, then scoop noodles from the bowl, UMAMI. What you ate were baked snack goods, other snacks that are great after lunch or dinner are the sweet & savory desserts. Namely, the Leche Flan ( caramel custard ) the Brazo de Mercedes ( Filipino Meringue ) the Turon ( Banana Plantain/Jackfruit inside a fried lumpia wrapper ) best eaten warm with a scoop of Mango ice cream. Also try Rice Cakes called Suman, Biko, Pichi Pichi, and the Casava Slice, Bibingka. I suggest you guys call Valerio's Bakery, Red Ribbon Bakery, Goldilocks Bakery and inquire first for availability of these items. As you can see, there are a lot more Filipino Food you need to try. Its all g9ood tho, you have the support of tons of Filipino audience around the world. Take care guys.

Toasted pan de sal with butter is SO GOOOOOD! I would put butter on the bread then pop it in the toaster oven until the bread was how I liked it! As a kid, I loved adding a bit of sugar to the melted butter when I wanted something sweet 😋

The movie you guys are talking about is Sinister. Love the first movie and not so much the second. Here for it that you guys enjoyed filipino pastries! Hard to find good ones where I am in the US. You guys should try different kinds of “kakanin”/filipino rice cakes. From biko, palitaw, puto, suman, sapin-sapin, bibingka, kalamay, casava cake, etc. Those are bomb and miss having them 👌🏽

Pan de sal and ice cream also, you shld try it. Pan de sal and hot coffee in the morning. Yum!! Pan de coco, coconut meat cooked in sugar. My fave since I was a child. You shld try siopao with sauces, esp asado sauce. And Filipino spanish bread. 😊 The topping on the mocha cupcake is margarine, an alternative to butter. It’s also a topping on the ensaymada, with white sugar and cheese.

when the bread they got is around 2 to 4 dollars per pack or piece.. when here in Philippines they can just get the same kind around 0.1 (neighbourhood bakery) to 0.3 dollars for a gourmet bakery kind.. pan de sal (literally salt bread in spanish) is supposed to be salty as the original bread from spain.. but filipinos prefer their version sweet and hot specially in ww2..then they started putting fillings in it like cheese, ube and some are made with malunggay leaves this days.. hope you can taste those there.. more power to your channel!

Pandesal is usually for breakfast... at 5 am the smell of it from the bakery is all over our tiny neighborhood. I remember my aunt she always slice it in to two and then wipe the inside with margarine add a little bit of sugar on top of it and then toast it for a bit and of course hot Milo or Ovaltine for the drinks but now its coffee.

Add these to the list, too 😁 Champorado - a type of porridge made by boiling glutinous or sticky rice with cocoa powder or a tablet of ground-up cocoa beans. Upon serving, it is sometimes topped with milk and some people even like to put bits of dried salted fish to add a salty taste. I think lugaw is also a good addition to this. It's a rice porridge with schredded chicken or any meat. can also have mixed peas on it. It's usually paired with tokwa't baboy which is fried tofu mixed with mini square cutted pork usually comes with sauce consist of soy sauce vinegar pepper and a lot of onions ( Chilis are optional if you want a little kick)

We Filipinos are bread eater...i grew up in a province...Pandesal is our earliest breakfast food... we have our first breakfast at around 3-4 AM with coffee...and the second breakfast at around 6 - 7 am...since we need to be in school at around 6:30 am...

@@LaterTofuEats especially in farming community...or provincial life...Like my parents would wake up early have around 4 am to have their Pandesal Breakfast...in my elementary days and highschool we are obliged to wake up around 4-5 am because we need to be in school around 6:30 am...we will have pandesal with either coffee or Milo...and then later on we will have our second breakfast before we go to school...mostly its fried rice with either hotdogs, eggs, tocino, longganisa, corned beef, beef loaf, spam...etc...we eat heavily in the morning...

Yeah we absolutely loved all of them. We had them again the next day toasted with some butter, added eggs etc paired with coffee and it was amazing 😋 likely going to be my go to breads from now 😂 planning to experiment with them by pairing them up with different meats etc 🤤 thanks so much for watching, appreciate your love and support!

Coffee is the best partner of all these breads and baked goods! The bitterness will counteract the sweetness. And siopao is made of cat's meat glad you liked it.

Our Pandecoco, Ensaymada and Pandesal are one of my favorites.. we have also Egg Pie, Kababayan, Spanish Bread etc.. those are breads that you can buy in the bakery..
