Good stuff, would be nice if an editor would’ve directed you to add timing for the cooking, but I guess the goal is to get more traffic to either the tasty app or to the website.

Can you marinate the meat for 2 days?
@Mary-sh2bp
@Mary-sh2bp Ай бұрын
Yes. The meat won’t go bad. Especially if you’ll be using pork or beef, it will tenderize it more and the flavor will penetrate the meat more. For chicken, I recommend 1-2 days max, especially if you will be slicing the meat thin.

@@jesuslivesforevevr not the full story! There was a high demand for ketchup in the Philippines during WWII but with low supply of tomatoes, the inventor had to improvise using bananas, the same spices used for ketchup, and red food coloring. As a Filipino, take it from me, it doesn't taste like bananas at all.

It's too light of a shade and not the right texture to be anything that came off his head. I suspect it was from the pastry brush he used to baste the sauce on.

It's not as off as you are making it seem. It's exactly like why one uses citrus fruits on meats. Like orange and lemons, softdrinks are acids by nature which break down proteins in meat, making it tender.

Yes, you heard right 😊 It’s part of the Filipino cuisine, like the sweet Filipino spaghetti sauce. Anyway, in this case it makes the bbq a bit sweet and savory as well as kinda sticky 😋 yum yum

Why sprite??
@torch712
@torch712 3 ай бұрын
Softdrinks are made of acid (carbonic acid to be exact) like citrus fruits (ascorbic acid), so the former has the same effect on meats (gives a sour flavor undertone and tenderizes the meat by breaking down proteins).
