The Ati people being the first inhabitants of the island and the archipelago of the Philippines should get more benefits from the government.

I would go to boracay if they provide jobs for the ati. They can do this through cultural tourism, promoting ati culture, their dances, folklore and history. Learning other culture is what makes traveling unique and memorable . One good example is Fiji.

It's sad to see that darker skin colour is discriminated with not just Africans, but also other countries which are not white to begin with.

This isn't exactly about race (how blacks are discriminated against since whites and other lighter skinned people are also forcibly displaced), but this is raw capitalism at work here. The land is valuable so it is being developed to become even more valuable. Seeing this as purely acting on racist motives does not account the whole dynamics of the "free" market (which could appear "racist").

ScholarGnome So you're still justifying this greed? Shame on you if you're Filipino and "proud" of dislocation of these native people.

Blacks are even descriminated by blacks for example Ethiopian shanqila and somali Bantu.

If they just employ more ati people in Boracay that problem won't exist. They can help with advertetsing the island as well.

cerverg But these filthy oligarchs are racist to the core. I'll never go to Boracay for this reason 😡

Thats a shame they treat them like that. They've suffered hundreds of years of oppression. Even when people from Borneo arrived in Iloilo in 1250 they kicked them off the beach and into the mountains

The NCIP must come to the rescue of these Ati ICCs by virtue of IPRA law of 1997 i.e. rights to lands/domains, self governane & empowerment, social justice & human rights and cultural integrity.
