Hearing the narrator's accent reminds me of my late grandfather. His English accent sounds exactly like it. I miss him so much. 😢😢 I think you can hear that accent alot with the elite Filipinos today.

The “farmer” narrating was an American imitating a Filipino accent and doing a bad job at it. The accent is very inconsistent and sometimes switches between a mexican to a stereotypical asian accent. I think you mean your grandfather’s accent was similar to Eddie Garcia’s.
@chn92694

@@purple54997 Similar but not quite. Eddie's accent was very Filipino imo, my grandpap was a Spanish-Filipino, he can both speak Filipino and Spanish and so was his English accent was kinda mix of both Filipino and Spanish (I guess) 😅

No it’s not, it’s pretty terrible actually. The “farmer” who was narrating isn’t actually a Filipino but an American doing a terrible job imitating a Filipino accent.

It’s throw back. I missed my grandfather’s nipa hut in the middle of the farm. I missed racing carabao with my cousin too. Life is so simple no complications at that time.i remember too that I’m so afraid of going down the bamboo stairs, I feel like I’m going to fall anytime 😁😁😁 or is it bcoz I’m afraid of heights.

i grew up in that era. It was simple but enjoyable. We enjoyed playing with our neighbors after school. When it was time for supper, our Mom would call us for our prayers and supper. We had our chores to do but nothing matches our joy with such simple pleasures with friends and relatives.

I was born and raised in Manila .We only go to the province during School vacation time . There's complete difference living in the City and the province. Lifestyle is different and people are more conservative compare to the City. No pollution, there's abundant of food like livestock , seafood , all kind of crops. All fresh and natural that's why people who lived in the provinces mostly they have long life span ! Hello from Las Vegas , originally from the Philippines and I've been following your Vlogs for almost a month now . I enjoyed watching it that's why I subscribe to your channel .

In the 50s I was 5 yrs. old. Life then was very simple. The most memorable was washing our clothes by the river. Sometimes after a heavy rain, we could hear the rushing roar of water collected during the rain coming from the mountain. We call it "baha" (flood.) We have to rush gathering our clothes or they will all be washed away with the rushing water. down to the sea.

That's so cool! I've never seen that video before and really enjoyed watching it! I love the everyday outfits of the Manileños and Manileñas in the 50's - dresses, short-sleeved shirts, and trousers. I've always loved my mums' and aunts' dresses from the 50's and 60's, too - like the party dresses that they were wearing in the video. Contrary to the modern-day Filipino, the only one wearing jeans then was the farmer!

that is why Filipinos eat rice for breaskfast because being an agriculutre land,the farmers need the calories for the hard labor in the the farm. extra rice is cook for dinner so the left over can be fried rice in the morning for heavy breakfast.
