VG, Trump is talking about undocumented illegal immigrants who entered the last 4 years. There are about 15M to 20M right now roaming the streets and under the EBT program. They are the ones who cross the border without any documents. The Filipinos has documents who entered thru the port of entry with visas, max 6 months or maybe 1 time extension then TNT. Sadly the ones that have gone on a valid visa, then decided to stay on an expired visa, and most likely are working, which is not allowed on a tourist, or student visa, are exactly the reason the US Immigration is sooooo tough on allowing filipino citizens to even get a tourist visa. Yep, and if you overstay on a visa in The Philippines, you will be fined and deported. Also, working is not allowed on a tourist visa here either. As a result, the Chinese citizens are not permitted visa upon entry and must obtain their visa in advance through the Filipino embassy in China. How did Filipinos become ‘undocumented’? Did they cross the border w/o permission or authorization? I think you meant many are ‘out of status’. There’s a huge difference between the two. I guess I'm just spoiled but happy I am. I'll be 67 in February and my wife (Filipina I met here in the US) are thinking about going for an extended visit to see her family. Medical is the main reason as to why I don't think I could live there. I'm retired Civil service and Air Force and my wife and I have tricare health insurance in which a lot of hospitals will file your claim for you once you pay your 25% of the bill. I'm from Dallas now living in Southern Mississippi and the cost of living isn't too bad. My wife works on the Gulfport navy base here and she thinks she will retire in about a year no matter what.
