The Filipinos have seen her performace and it was a complete utter flop, she's an idiot, making lies, credit grabber, had ties with the ill fated Liberal Party and that's why Filipinos should never let Leni win again because of failure as a Vice President while attempting to put the great President Duterte into a trap.

what’s happening here is not only history distortion/revisionism but as well history relativism. some people invalidating the experiences of those who suffered from martial law just because they themselves hasn’t experienced it, and it really is saddening. yes, partially this problem may have been caused by people who doesn’t research well, but to be honest, this wouldn’t have happened in the first place if those “government officials” didn’t created such disinformation.

Im not gonna counter that marcos camp really did very well in rebuilding their image among the masses- it was so well planned and they were very patient, probably a decade or two of preparation. They’re dangerous but there’s something i would commend about them, theyre way smarter than the previous political camp. But i believe that is 50% of the cause. The other 50% is mostly on an ongoing but unrecognized people’s revolt against LP. Two elections straight with the highest voter turnouts and landslide wins against any LP representative, it says something and marcs simply took advantage at the ripest time and to take sarah as the best image for that revolt. Reality is LP became too overconfident and this is their undoing- media, education-they had the tools to maintain a narrative but it was not enough to fool an ordinary filipino’s human condition. Marcoses are the same as any oligarch, whats important is that we always show the sentiment of the majority whoever sits there, whether that be for the better or worse. If the marcoses are in it for the long game like lp or his father, he better do well and im holding on to this social pressure to guide him rather than his innate “morals” most people tend to believe in

How is this about "people who doesn't research well" about Martial Law when it is being taught in school? I can't quite follow what you mean with that? Isn't it the same history that taught us as Cory as the icon of democracy? So, I don't get the notion of this whole election thing of "disinformation" when "Marcos" was the most hated family name in history. If people will push for ELECTION FRAUD then better file a petition to PET if they've got solid evidences to back up their claim because that's the proper venue for it, not in EDSA/anywhere to rally to gain public sympathy or media mileage because that's not how and where they will claim justice if there's any electrion fraud.

"Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is a sin." The best hope for Filipinos here is to become educated, achieve a good character, and discern truth. For always, power hungry elitist and ignorant masses are the greatest factor for the Philippines to be doomed. Politicians and dictators love taking advantage of the vulnerable and minority. As you go on your life, you can then spot disagreeable things around you. From the notion of "following rules" to "rights and privileges", a broader understanding in the spectrum of life is indeed important. A very valuable necessity for not just Filipinos but to everyone.

The only way to get correct beliefs is carefully letting observations (evidence) change your mind. None of the people in this video have good chances to be rational, so they don't have much chance to get better and better beliefs over time. Rather than engaging with the substance of the criticisms or facts presented, they often resort to ad hominem attacks or deflect the conversation by bringing up other political figures like Leni Robredo. To me, this behavior is indicative of a deeper issue with social media discourse - a focus on winning arguments or proving oneself right, rather than having a meaningful conversation. By prioritizing pride and sensationalized trends over the actual substance of the issue, people may be missing out on important opportunities to learn from different perspectives and engage in productive discussions. In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the complex issues surrounding the Marcos dictatorship, it's important to focus on the historical record and the facts. We should be willing to listen to opposing viewpoints and engage in constructive dialogue, rather than simply trying to score points or prove a point.

There’s no “English” in Tagalog language. They’re literally speaking both English and Tagalog at the same time since it’s easier to use English words than Tagalog sometimes. On the other hand, there are Spanish loanwords that became part of Filipino language, but many of those loanwords already have different meaning. Some of those Spanish loan words actually have their original or “Pure” Tagalog words. For example The word “Government”. In Filipino (Spanish loanwords) you can say “Gobyerno”, while in pure tagalog word it’s “Pamahalaan”.

The Philippines took part in the Program for International Student Assessment (Pisa) for the first time in 2018, the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). Also, Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM). You can use these as references. Across the three assessments, poor learning results were observed among students in the Philippines, with more than 80 percent of them falling below minimum levels of proficiency expected for the respective grades. The country was last in reading and second to last in science and mathematics among 79 countries in Pisa. In TIMSS, it ranked last in both mathematics and science among 58 countries in the fourth-grade assessment. In SEA-PLM, it was among the bottom half of the six countries in reading, mathematics, and writing literacy. To give a view on the mindset of the majority of the voters in the Philippines, It's a popularity contest. Doesn't matter if you're a corrupt fat old dude but because they see you on the TV all the time, just make a few false promises and they'd immediately accept you. The Philippines loves a strong leader, strong = manliness so Leni (the opposition) is deemed by many (mostly the old voters) not to be suited because of her being a woman and how disastrous the aquino term was (but the thing is, Ferdinand's last term is already failing the Philippines). I'm by no means a Marcos supporter (Wanted lacson to win), I only want honest answers for BBM but thus far he actively avoided all of these questions like his life depends on it. Like what happened to the gold? Why install so many already proven corrupt politicians? Faked Diplomas? Just what is your priority for the Philippines, is it to revise history to make the people glorify your family again or to make it better? -- because so far, all of your focuses deemed to be falling into the former with you spending the taxpayer's money with your damn parties. Basically, I just want honesty. And my opinion on all of this? The Philippines is doomed. Every single old supporters of his are literally fanatics who'll go so far to attack the accused parties. Remember what happened to the beatles when they came here? That's another bad thing the Marcoses have done. I love my fellow countrymen, but most of them have a very short term memory and very gullible, doesn't even research as long as their idols says so.

There are numerous times when Duterte kept speaking out to Leni as if its like a family arguement. Its suprising how leader like this would be so stupid. And also when you researched the partylist groups that supports for each candidates, Leni had several Partylist Groups that were linked to the CPP-NPA-NDF Communist Terrorist Groups.

My personal opinion on this is neutral, I'm a Filipino, Ilokano pero hindi ko type si BBM, nor type ko si Leni Robredo o iba pa. I respect those who is in position, no matter who they are.

Just two points: 1. Clearly, you can see the educational crisis that our country is facing for a long time. Filipinos would rather believe on what they see on social media rather than what they have learned in school, in HEKASI and Social Studies. 2. The people in the video who are for BBM acknowledged, in one way or another, that the Marcoses did something wrong in the past. One man even mentioned that not because Marcos Sr. was a criminal would mean that BBM will also be a criminal. Isn't it ironic that there are still Filipinos who do not or fail to acknowledge that the Marcoses were judged by the Supreme Court to be guilty with a number of crimes that they have committed. At the end of the day, we have no choice but to deal with whatever government that we have. I am one with the other guy who said, "Sana mali ako."

As a Filipino national who Immigrated to America at a young age due to parents and growing up here, I really hope for the best for the Filipino people and for them to truly be independent from the influences of other nations that have no intent to better the Filipino people. Interesting video, I was curious about the perceptions on the ground. In reality, the dynasty already had a firm grip (in the north?) in politics before the presidency so there was a supportive base there already (itself surprising to many outside the country). As pointed out by some interviewees, there were many troubling signals in the lead-up and even in the brief period since. 'Give the son a chance' is a cop out given the circumstances. Nowadays, you don't need an overt lockdown via martial law; you can do more with media control via technology. That and education reform can lock in the next generation. It's good to see both the old and young are aware. I wouldn't tune out, no matter how optimistic one may be inclined to be. As they say.. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, ...

The main problem of the Philippines is the legacy of colonialism and because our country has been at the end of the world from its colonizers (both Spain and the US, though not our neighbor Japan) the legacy of self-colonialism (we always need to cooperate with our colonizers in order for them to colonize us). Colonialsm and self-colonialism have given our politicians the idea that the country is the object of plunder. I hope BBM will break this cycle in his actions (and not just his words), but I have my doubts. His parents plundered the country. I hope BBM has transcended that very real past of criminality.

I feel like we should talk about 9:59 I can't help but doubt how an average foreign individual is actually invested (care) about the government leader/politics of other countries, to the point where they would judge a citizen of a country solely based on it. Isn't it more natural to be much preoccuppied or worrying about your own country's politics? I mean, aside from the U.S., Russia, and even China, (and a handful of other nations) does anyone actually know who is the leader of a different country aside their own? Even in the U.K., aside from their royal family, can an average person outside their country even name their Prime Minister (without actually googling it...; like, they are "just suppose to know it") And on a more serious note, what kind of prejudice in the business world is to discriminate an individual based on their political stance???!!! In reality, there are incidents where this actually occurs. And while there can be people with sound or moral arguments to defend this, it doesn't change the fact, that this prejudice denies people the human right to earn a living.

Yes especially in europe where their government are extremely connected. I’m actually surprised with how little filipinos know about their fellow south east asian neighbors considering how their economies and histories are intertwined. The average foreigner would care because they don’t want to support a dictator or someone who supports one. This is extremely prevalent when you look at freelancers who put their nationality in their portfolio, there have been multiple filipino artists on twitter voicing their grievances about clients cancelling their orders because of the election. It’s extremely common to not go to a joint because of differing political stances. An example of this would be people refusing to eat at chik fil-a because they support anti gay institutes, or chinese people boycotting companies that even mention taiwan. It isn’t prejudice it’s protest, you won’t give your money to someone who supports an ideology you don’t support.
