Hello! You should always try to respond to the prompt as precisely as possible. If you speak or write about things that are not directly relevant to the prompt, you will lose points. This can be difficult, because sometimes the prompts can be quite difficult. This is why it's important to practice a diversity of writing and speaking questions. That way, you learn the vocabulary and you come up with ideas about all of the topics that Duolingo could ask you about on the test.
