I was just thinking "What if I used magnets to make ruined terrain walls and floors modular" and ended up here. I am blown away! I'm still going to knock out my rougher idea cause it will add variation, but I absolutely love this! I also realized after watching this that the texture rollers work much better on dollar store foamboard than on the pink or blue XPS. Thanks for creating this video!

17:21 is exactly what I was thinking for the whole first part of the video. Very very cool craft idea and I love that you are so willing to share. So many people in the past reveled in the ego trip of being called a wizard for doing craft work rather than explain how they’d done it to someone

I'm just dove into making D&D terrain and I've loved your videos. Something I like about your channel is you acknowledge your failure in design and then showed/explained how you looked at that failure, innovated a new modification to your design and then put it into place and kept on trucking. I think showing new crafters that mistakes are a part of the process and just rolling with it and thinking your way through is a big part of the creative experience.

You can secure the magnets, if you still want to use them instead of the nuts, with milliput. That is so strong, the magnets aren’t pulled out when trying to attach them to to another magnet. Awesome build-gave me some important tips and reminders. (I wouldn’t have mentioned the milliput, because this build is 100% under control and not new, but I felt terrible on your behalf trying to cut a big space in a little foam for that nut!) ❤️👍🏻💪🏻

I'd guess most of those magnets will fall out over time. I use super glue or epoxy to put magnets on my bases and they constantly pull off. I 3d print magnet rings now. To give the magnet more surface area to grip the base.
@brokenterrain2 жыл бұрын
I wish I used the terrain enough for it to breakdown. That would mean I was playing way more. Sadly I don't get to play that often. So perhaps the magnets will rip from the foam eventually but so far so good.
