Those Final Faction toys are a GOLD MINE for general kitbashing. I even got the robot dog to use as a critter-pal for my own action-figure version of Momotaro. And for those that missed it, the name of that orange wash is "Fuegan Orange."

i love where you're going with this sci-fi build. from the floor to these modular walls! What's next? I'd personally like to see some scatter to further block up lines of sight. Maybe specific room details...what would a cargo bay need? crates? What does an armoury need? lockers or a gun rack? Maybe there's a greenhouse or hydroponic area on board? some planters with alien vegetation growing? Does this building or ship have a bridge or administration area? let's see what you can come up with!

One idea that comes to mind is to create some vents with fans in them, either wall-mounted or from floor platforms. I acquired some little plastic propellers from Dollar Tree a while back, that were sold as party favors. Always meant to use them as vent fans, but never got around to it.

100% love this design! I'll be coating mine in Mod Podge to strengthen the build, made the wood look almost entirely like metal as it fills in the grain, and it makes for a hell of a seal before you prime them. Stealing this idea!

Stellar work. Love the way the panels and the greeble worked out. Similar techniques can also be used by gluing sections of wall together into simple boxes, with or without tops. Another way to add greeble would be to cut out bits of plastic sprue, which many people have lying around. I've been employing sprue as basing material for my Dark Eldar. But they can easily go on walls to create depth without protruding too much.

These look great. As a suggestion you can use some thin sheet styrene for the panels it would not have the grain and you can have better control of the thickness.
@brokenterrain2 жыл бұрын
Or cereal box cardboard. Then you have full control of size, shape and pattern. It would look better, but then I wouldn't have the ready sized shapes. When trying to do a video a week, speed becomes important. So I do cut a corner or two to speed things along. The KZbin algorithm is a cruel mistress.

Watching this as the other ones was thinking when I copy this board a might add 1 inch or half inch risers around the edge then I can add some 3d terrain. But now just thinking with the hinge there will be a 1 inch or 2 inch gap between the panels. Could put 2 pieces of foam inside when packed up that sit in the holes when opened. Hmm. I really is a great space saver with no loss of detail compared to a matt. As you said before maybe clasps and magnets to hold it all shut and a handle? Keep going fella.
