New subscriber! I’m a self taught crazy cake maker for almost 20 years- I have a severe peanut allergy so bakery cakes were always off limits. And I didn’t want my kids to grow up having lame cakes lol. Yes, I would always use a cardboard cake circle under any of my cakes and that would fully cover that hole so you wouldn’t need to add any other covering. Thank you for pointing that out 😊

Hi, i love your video. Im interest to do exact same put on acrylic in the middle for a wedding cake. I wanna ask do you put the dowel in the middle to secure whole stacked cake? Or only put simply put straws as stand on the bottom of the cake before put the acrylic box. I hope you able to answer my questions. Love from Malaysia. 🇲🇾

I stack it on-site since you can’t put a dowl rod through the entire cake. So just the straws for support.

Yes, you need to support it as you would a normal cake tier with enough dowels to evenly distribute the weight

this is probably a weird question but how does one cut the bottom tier with it there in the middle?

You slice the top tier first and serve that, then you can remove the middle tier, and then slice the bottom tier and serve that. 😊

After I slice and serve the top cake, I remove the acrylic tier and then slice and serve the bottom cake.

How much kg the lower cake is ?

I didn’t weigh it because I normally measure by size. The lower cake was a 12 inch round and about 4 inches high.
