For those of you who are saying that bath bombs contain acid powder are correct, but the acid isn’t a problem as they are made of cornstarch citric acid and baking soda, the baking soda alone contains ammonium hydroxide to neutralise the citric acid let alone the fact that citric acid is a weak acid and also cornstarch contains oh groups which may neutralise the acid, the only issue is the build up of co2 which may cause suffocation. The burning may have come from the high salt content inside the ballon as the PH may be around 10-14 due to hydroxides being formed which also causes chemical burns
