i figured out i find bugs creepy because they crawl way too fast. If they were slow moving, i doubt we would be as creeped out by them
@JelArts Жыл бұрын
I think isopods are fairly slow compared to some bugs!!

What if they just slowly chased after you to murder you? And they can hide easily, because they’re small, so you never know how close you are to death- ok I leave now

Bugs are less creepy the more you look at them. I used to be severely arachnophobic, like I would scream and run away and panic for over an hour. Every single time I'd ever see a spider. But then after an encounter with a very cute jumping spider I started reconsidering my position... I started researching spiders. After spending a really long time looking at spiders, I've been over my fear of them for nearly a decade now, they are no longer creepy to me at all. In fact, watching them walk is really cute to me. Some of them are cuter than others but I like all of them. Centipedes still creep me out a bit, but they are actually a bit more aggressive so that kind of makes sense. However, I can look at centipedes without feeling nauseous now which is like a huge victory 😅

In Argentina we call them "Bicho Bolita" which means "Little Ball Bug" bc of hoy they roll themselves up. When you put them on your hand they tickle, they are really cute and I have very fond memories about them growing up. ❤❤❤

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I kinda relate to the feeling of always feeling like you need to do MORE than what you're already doing. I'll have these massive to do lists and I'll stress over some big project for a while, but then when it's done I basically move on right away. That sort of mindset can lead to serious burnout tho, so what I've found that helps me is taking specific time to look over what I've accomplished and basically give myself a mental pat on the back lol. It feels really rewarding to be able to go "huh, yea I really did do that! Go me!" and I've found it also helps keep me motivated. Idk if this would work for anyone else, but feel free to try :)

Gosh as a full time independent artist I can’t tell you how similar I feel about the work life balance. I feel very guilty if I don’t make as much progress as i want in a day. Keeping up but also making time for yourself if so much harder then people realize. I been struggling with this for years and I honestly think this is the most common issue artist /creative workers deal with. Your doing great!

Hello! I just wanted to say that you inspire me so much, I wouldn't be where I am right now without your tips and incredibly cute art. I don't draw humans; I have always had an interest in critters and animals so those I draw. Thank you! PS. I used to keep isopods but now I mainly stick to garden snails and giant African land snails.

So....last month I was excited to see your raccoon drawings. Because...I was asked to illustrate a children's book about a raccoon family. I've always wanted to illustrate a children's book, but now that I am, I'm getting cold feet. Your raccoon drawings was an encouragement!

I have a big project going on right now! I doodle one thing every day in an empty calendar I bought for just this purpose 🥰 and every Sunday I sketch the last piece on a KZbin video (on this channel) I'm 8 weeks in so far and I'm determined to actually finish this project. Sometimes it's exhausting to just know you are going to make this video 😂 but it will all be worth it, I hope!

I really like this sketch book spread, and I was working on my Drawloween with a twist for today. In case you're wondering, the twist that I'm doing is that I'm making cross stitch patterns this year. That means I'm making 31 pixel art pictures this year. It's actually kinda fun. I'm drawing the outer lines first with pen, before scanning it into my computer and filling in the color there.

I was looking for your Jeltober list back in September and tbh, I was kinda glad you didn't do one this year. 😂 October is the absolute worst month for me (well, December is a strong contender these days) and I never can take part in any challenge. Still I always want to and then get disappointed in day 6 when I can't keep it up. I'm still going to do your 2022 list at some point, loved the style of it! Totally get the pressure of doing more but at the same time trying to find a balance. When it comes to your content, I've really been enjoying these chatty 'fill a sketchbook page' style videos and I'm sure I'm not the only one. However, coming up with stuff to talk about does seem tiring. 😅 Actually, what I was thinking, maybe do a 'reverse Jeltober' at some point? Like a list of stuff you've already drawn in the past month or whatever, then post a video of the drawings each week, maybe even feature a couple of other people's pictures on the prompts. Would be a good community collab and let you draw whatever you wanted/needed whenever you had the time, possibly with only a short commentary on VO.

Heya! I love your stickers and just went to look at your shop, but you does the buy 4 get 1 free work? If I add 5 stickers to my cart I still have to pay for all 5, it seems?
@JelArts Жыл бұрын
I just checked and I had a few stickers that weren't part of it so I just fixed that - also it only works for individual stickers and not sticker packs/sheets, btw! If it's still not working send me an email (found on my shop website).
