Filling and Bleeding the Cooling System on a GM 3.8L

Everyone leaves the oil cap off the valve cover. It only takes a second to reinstall. No one has ever dropped anything in the valve cover hole, nuts, washers, tools, dirt gunk.

If you hold coolant jug sideways it makes it easier to pour

Interesting. The coolant overflow tank on the park avenue 3800 is on the drivers side of engine bay.

you wont with a top off, but if you let air in from the revivor you should always burp the system

You specifically cautioned about using the correct coolant. However, the junk you added to the radiator is not the correct coolant. The correct coolant is DEX-COOL, and is Gatorade-orange.

it don’t really matter as long as you don’t mix them, i actually recommend completely flushing the dex shit & putting prestone all vehicle in there

@@Zach_CR hell yes. Did that with my truck a few years ago after new water pump. Took a lot to flush the death cool out but was worth it.

Even though dex cool is recommended in reality it's actually the garbage antifreeze. It destroys seals, manifold gaskets and the radiator itself. Worse crap GM could have ever used.

You can use mopar’s pink coolant they use in they’re srt cars. My guy runs it in his grand pix race built motor. I’m trying out Zerex G40 on my build
