I always loved the style of the 454ltd's I had a 440ltd which also had nice lines both were very comfortable to ride.

I had a red 440 also and a 81 model ltd 750, that bike was stupid fast

I bought the maroon colored on brand new off the showroom floor in 1986, cost me $2,150.00 out the door. Back when small bikes hauled ass, mine topped out at 130mph

me too lol, the weak link in those bikes was the starter motor and the weak shift linkage. They came out with a thicker linkage and I installed it and fixed the problem of bending the shift linkage. On a side note I push started mine for 2 years and never even wore the belt

every magazine test i ever saw on the 454 showed a top speed of 101 mph. no way that bike goes 130 even if you change the gearing on it because the engine does not have enough power to propel it that fast. i love my 454 ltd and she bangs to ten grand pretty fast. it is a lot quicker than people realize seeing as it is just a 450 but that engine was actually half of the original ninja which was 908 cc.

@@paulk5311 All I can say is what I saw, and I regularly got mine up to 130, that was bending over the tank to get under the wind, but mine for sure would do 130mph. I could do 110-115mph sitting straight up on flat road routinely. Could be mine was like that because I rode it hard from the minute I bought it, I dunno, like I said I can only comment on my bike and what I saw with my own eyes. ;-)

Speedometers aren’t always accurate, too. I bought mine in 86 brand new too- right off the floor. First bike I ever rode. I swear I had mine up around 110. But I was full throttle headed down a slope. I wish I still had that bike

No i sold it sadly, i'm sorry. But the LTD 454 is a very nice little bike.
