People are nuts... that pond was an oasis for wildlife and could have been stocked with crappie to provide a lot of protein for the table. In addition, filling it with a lot of biodegradable debris is going to make an unstable mess for 50 years. They should have just done some clearing around it to open it up some for better aeration.

Funny how things work. Years ago, someone paid good money to have a pond dug. Today, they are paying to fill it. Chris this could be a big win for you. They are paying you to drop so many loads and you are charging others to remove their junk. If this is the case, making money never got easier. I have some friends in the trucking business and they tell me this happens quite often.

Nice video, but after watching a lot of your videos, I've been wondering if you ever get in trouble with the wildlife and preservation authorities? It would be illegal to fill a pond that size - well actually any size of pond, except for a very small garden/Koi pond - without a written permit in my neck of the woods (Denmark) and the powers in control would be breathing down your neck, claiming you're destroying the habitat for insects, amphibians, snakes, birds and whatnot... It would actually cost you a hefty fine.

"The Cottonmouth, also referred to as a water moccasin, is native to North Carolina. It is a heavy bodied, semi-aquatic snake, which is often found in wetland areas such as swamps, marshes and tidal creeks.
